I think it is a big mistake to criticize liberals for hash tag activism.
Usually, whenever liberals want to prove how much they care about something it involves either spending our money or enacting new regulations of our activities.
It doesn’t matter whether the spending or regulations do anything to fix the problem. It only matters how much of our money they spend. The more more it costs us the more they care.
I am in favor of anything liberals want to do to show how much they care about something that does not involve reaching into my wallet.
So the issue boils down to this: would you rather that liberals engage in utterly ineffectual actions that cost us money and freedom or that they engage in utterly ineffectual actions that do not cost us anything?
