When Hillary Clinton last promoted a book, Harry Potter was in his fifth year at Hogwarts and the Kindle didn’t yet exist.
That was 11 years ago. Clinton’s first memoir, “Living History,” was a blockbuster that generated headlines and attention for well over a month. In the next few weeks, with the help of mega-lawyer Robert Barnett, Clinton aides including Philippe Reines will figure out how to handle the media and tour for her upcoming memoir, “Hard Choices.”
As the rollout of Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s book “A Fighting Chance” continues, some Clinton allies have kept an eye on Twitter and news accounts. But Reines, Barnett and Clinton’s circle have only just started preparing for a grueling several weeks of promotion; people around the former secretary of state say it’s too soon to know what her schedule and plans will look like after June 10, when her own book is released.
When it comes to planning a book tour, the goals of an author have always been in tension with the needs of a publisher. In Clinton’s case, a book event that may serve as a dry run for a potential presidential campaign may be at odds with Simon and Schuster’s need to recoup its $8 million advance — Clinton and her aides may prefer stops in cities that are more tailored to national ambitions than maximum sales.
Clinton also faces the reality that the market has changed dramatically in the decade since her last memoir. Book tours are far less necessary to market a product that consumers can simply buy online.

When she first testified before the House regarding Benghazi, she was *not* under oath, because she had a “headache”. “At this point, what difference does it make?”
Who wants to read stuff she didn’t write spouting the same drivel we read and hear every day in the MSM?
She doesn’t care.
She got an 8 million dollar advance.
