Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, wants Congress to ban "the FCC's latest adventure in 'net neutrality,' " saying the proposed changes to Internet regulations would damage the industry.
"A five-member panel at the FCC should not be dictating how Internet services will be provided to millions of Americans," Cruz said in a Wednesday afternoon statement. "I will be introducing legislation that would remove the claimed authority for the FCC to take such actions, specifically the Commission's nebulous Sec. 706 authority. More than $1 trillion has already been invested in broadband infrastructure, which has led to an explosion of new content, applications, and Internet accessibility. Congress, not an unelected commission, should take the lead on modernizing our telecommunications laws. The FCC should not endanger future investments by stifling growth in the online sector, which remains a much-needed bright spot in our struggling economy."

The leftist fascists want to “regulate” which is another word for “censor” the internet so bad they are going into seizures. It seems to me they are trying another back-door approach like they did with the Obamacare scam - Control through money: “Oh I’m sorry sir, if you want to read Freerepublic, or Rush Limbaugh, that can only be accessed through our premium plan at $1,564.33 per month” which pretty much censors because nobody can afford it just like they are intentionally destroying the health industry by making the cost astronomical.
The basically want to return to the days of AOL and Compuserve, where there was a portal that sent you to a few basic sites.
Sure, I'm all for total deregulation.
But it appears Cruz is on the same side of "Net Neutrality" as Al Franken. And Facebook. And Google.
Hey Ted, lets have a debate!
There is no basis in fact for your unfounded assertion. It's the same argument the lefties are making.
You want to have a debate with Tex Cruz? Good luck with that.
Ten years ago, I had a choice of: medium speed DSL or dialup.
Today, I have a choice of: medium speed DSL, wireless with a 20 gig per month cap, or dialup.
There's a lot of unused shipping around the world. Can we use some of it to haul bandwidth from the areas where it is plentiful, to the bandwidth-starved United States??
On this subject, absolutely.
Any other...probably not.
