After Nebraskans Ben Sasse and Pete Ricketts, both of whom were endorsed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, won the GOP Senate and gubernatorial nominations, respectively, on Tuesday, Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, rolled out a video that highlighted some of her other endorsements for this election cycle.
Sasse crushed his opponents and won by 27 points, but Ricketts won by just over 2,000 votes, and Palin's endorsement may have made all the difference. A Harper Polling poll in February found Jon Bruning with a 19-point lead over Ricketts, who said many Nebraskans on the fence went over to his side after Palin backed his candidacy.
"I can't tell you how many people have come to me and said, 'I was having trouble making up my mind [in the contested primary] and I saw the endorsement form Governor Palin, and I'm on your side,'" Ricketts said on Monday.
This was not the first time Palin has been successful in the Cornhusker state. If you read carefully, you’ll see (I believe) that I’ve not maligned SP. I would crawl over crushed glass to vote for SP, or anybody (save Christie) with an R next to his or her name. Yes! I don’t know how old you are, but they did to her what they did to Newt, and for the exact same reasons: he/she was/were dangerous. If you don’t pay too much attention, you now “know,” thanks to the MSM, that SP is pure Satan, only worse. Yes, the left programmed the nation how to think about, SP. They DO have that power... When Russia is within spitting distance, unlike northern VA where I live, it really ceases to be an evil abstraction, and becomes quite real to you. You are more likely to think about it and have serious opinions on it.
Haley was an obscure also-ran in the GOP primary and her poll number skyrocket only after Palin gave her that endorsement.
