Talking Points Memo editor and publisher Josh Marshall thinks that one of the reasons many conservatives despise President Obama is that he's black, but that's basically a micro-issue. The macro version, Marshall contends, is that Republicans' race-based detestation of Obama is inseparable from their discomfort with an increasingly multiracial Democratic party.
And apparently the donk party isn’t the party of everyone, anymore. Only non-whites. How inclusive.
Josh, it is OK to have fantasies, but it is very important to make a serious effort to distinguish your fantasies from reality.

Well, it's the modern age. I always think of that OUTER LIMITS episode with Donald Pleasance ( a college professor N.B. ) where his hostilities congeal into a tidy thundercloud that zaps his imagined oppressors. That's government today.

Amazing how liberals fail to understand basic things.
Clinton was despised because he was the first president of the hippie generation, or more precisely he was the first to represent the political ideas of the anti-American New Left. Obviously he had a lot of bubba going on and was no ideological purist, but he still brought those ideas to the office. You see it most clearly in his Alinskyite wife and the attempt at socialized healthcare, which is huge. Obama has the same ideas but is ten times the ideologue that Clinton was. The Talking Points Memo guy actually starts with a partial acknowledgement that conservative resistance to Obama might actually have something to do with ideas, but then proceeds with the standard conspiracy theories centering on racism.
There is a point to be made about race and politics except it’s not about race but about culture. Unfortunately liberals are too dishonest and too opportunistic to admit this distinction. Furthermore it’s actually liberals who are racist because they don’t believe people can transcend race to embrace a common culture of excellence and liberty.
As for poor Billy Jeff whose personal reputation was dragged through the mud by those mean, obsessive Republicans, I’m reminded of how the whole communism thing played out. For decades the left insisted that conservatives were paranoid about communism. But then the wall came down, the Venona papers came out, and it turned out that conservatives were right all along. Same deal with Clinton and the series of inconvenient women who his operatives trashed as lying bimbos. There was nothing to see there, except then the Lewinski thing happened, and suddenly it was clear that conservatives had been right about him the whole time.
Good point player... THEY can vote as a block... but we're suppose to spread our votes out equally... yep, that gives dems the win.
