The United States and Europe have agreed to impose sanctions on Russia if it tries to disrupt this month's Ukrainian election, as Moscow stepped up pressure on its beleaguered neighbour by hinging future gas shipments on payments being made in advance.
US Secretary of State John Kerry, along with his German, French, British and Italian counterparts, on Thursday discussed possible sanctions, which would cover some of Russia's largest sectors including mining and gas.

Russia loses big in the elections.
...even in the East.
There’s a reason why separatists do not want elections in May. Even in the East and South, people do not appreciate armed thugs murdering and pillaging and declaring “People’s Republics” without their consent.
Or else what?
....or what? You’ll cry?
Here’s to Cardinal Puff for the third and very last time!
Lurch should have to chug a pitcher of beer every time the
Russians tell him to take his ultimatum and fluke himself.
This is just part of the setup for not counting the votes from regions that have never voted for the Kiev Kiddies. There won't be elections to disrupt in areas the Kiev Kiddies say are full of "terrorists", the coup in Kiev won't even try they'll just swear the area is insecure and not bother.
It's just like their calling everyone in some parts of the country "Russians" in spite of the fact they're Ukrainian citizens and have been ever since Ukraine was created when the Soviet Union collapsed. They use the same BS language their Right Sector bully boys use and anyone who is "ethnic Russian" doesn't matter at all to them.
Which is exactly why more parts of the country are going to become "terrorist strongholds" once the election results are in.
In other news, the WH says that Americans MUST NOT interfere with ANY Black Panthers standing outside polling booths (if this were to occur in the future) - wherever it may be in the U.S.
So then from where you sit in Russia behind the fully monitored firewall, you're in full agreement that Russia should not interfere with the Ukrainian election?
I’d prefer that the people decide for themselves. Unfortunately, that will not happen. Ukraine is a pawn and there is a struggle between Russia and the West. Russia didn’t start the protests in Maidan. Not sure how things will end.
You twisted handful of Paulistas keep repeating this lie in every thread. There was no coup in Kyiv. The interim government IS the Ukrainian rada elected in 2012. Yanukovych fled the country after his own party turned against him as a traitor and murderer. Elections are to be held May 21st or 25th, which the communist terrorists in Donbass are opposing, since all the polls show that Ukrainians want a united Ukraine, not to be gobbled up by your lord and master Putin.
There won't be elections to disrupt in areas the Kiev Kiddies say are full of "terrorists", the coup in Kiev won't even try they'll just swear the area is insecure and not bother.
There are helicopters being shot down and people being "disappeared" and their bodies found tortured to death in the woods or floating in the river. You really want to claim that place is secure?
It's just like their calling everyone in some parts of the country "Russians" in spite of the fact they're Ukrainian citizens and have been ever since Ukraine was created when the Soviet Union collapsed.
Liar, it's you and your buddies who have been creating this false tribalism declaring that "Russians" as a whole oppose being Ukrainian citizens. There were Russians in the Maidan. There are Russians being murdered in Donbass by the separatists. Don't start trying to turn your racial tribalism and pinning it on the Ukrainians.
Which is exactly why more parts of the country are going to become "terrorist strongholds" once the election results are in.
Based only on your sick fantasy to support the "Christian Monarch" Putin. You're so clueless you do not even read the news to see how much public opinion in the East and South is opposed to the thugs and communists.
