Obamacare's defenders have responded to charges that the law creates a system of bailouts for health insurers by arguing that the bailouts may not actually be bailouts. After all, the law's risk corridors create a system of symmetrical payments in which insurers that spend somewhat more than expected on health claims get paid by the administration, but those spending somewhat less than expected must pay in. In theory, it all balances out, with some insurers paying in and others getting paid. And it's even possible that, overall, insurers will pay in more than they are paid.
Possible, yes, but far from certain. What happens if most or all of the insurers participating in Obamacare's exchanges end up with higher than expected claims, and the administration owes them all?
Well, in that case they'll find the money to pay. Somehow. As Philip Klein reports in The Washington Examiner:
Bowing to an aggressive lobbying effort by insurers, the Obama administration announced Friday it would use "other sources of funding," if needed, to finance a bailout for insurance companies if the industry racks up excessive losses through President Obama's health care law.

Wow is all I can say. This is clearly thought up by someone who never had a real job. When the insurance companies that work hard and are responsible get penalized, but the lazy insurance companies get bailed out? That that gets rewarded gets done and we are sure to have healthcare that is slow and very expensive if it even works at all. Lucifer and Alinsky must be laughing right now.

Here’s the wake-up call the Obama is about to treat 1/6th of our economy as his own personal slush fund. Since he and his minions have done so much under the radar at the VA without Republicans calling him onto the carpet for it, he’s ready to go for the whole magilla.

This is not like where Obama legalizes a bunch of illegal aliens through executive order, and the costs are indirect and borne by other gov't programs.
This is real direct money. And it's a much harder thing than he has ever done before.
This could prove too much for the man. He could be on that midnight train to Hawaii.
Did he promise they could keep it, if they liked it?
Did he promise that the amount would be at least $2,500 per patient?
If these execs are stupid enough to believe an Obama promise they deserve to have their companies go bankrupt. When his checks bounce, or aren't even delivered at all.

Social Security recipients will see a huge drop in their benefits to finance this fiasco. Sure couldn’t expect him to take it from those on food stamps, Section 8 Housing, government funded Medicaid, etc. now could we? Everybody knows all we old people are just rolling in money so we won’t mind. /s/

If these two Federal Medical Programs were to be combined, say on Christmas Eve this year, would the surviving name be : “OBAMA VERY AWFUL CARE?”

Seriously though, I'd gladly trade Social Security and Medicare for a federal gov't that limited itself to its constitutional role of maintaining a strong currency and only regulating real interstate commerce.
But as it is, the gov't manipulates the currency and the economy and destroys your personal savings, e.g., microscopic interest rates, inflation, stock market and mortgage bubbles, etc. And if it gets bad enough, they can outlaw personal owning of gold, as they did in the Depression.
So what will happen in fact is, BOTH your Social Security and personal savings will get devastated.
If the older ObamaVAcare is crumbling, then how long will it take for this new and improved Obamacare to crumble?
