JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Authorities say a conservative Mississippi blogger went into a nursing home, photographed the bedridden wife of Republican U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran without permission and posted an image online as part of an anti-Cochran video.

Rose Cochran, 72, has lived at St. Catherine's Village since 2000 and has dementia.

Clayton Thomas Kelly, 28, of Pearl, was arrested Friday and charged with a felony, exploitation of a vulnerable adult, Madison police said. Kelly remained in the Madison County Detention Center on Saturday on $100,000 bond. It wasn't immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

Police Sgt. Robert Sanders wouldn't identify Rose Cochran as the person who was photographed. Cochran attorney Don Clark said an unauthorized photo of Rose Cochran was taken in her nursing home room, near her bedside, and it was posted briefly online as part of a video.

Some random thoughts:

Most ‘memory care’ units have better security than that.

She was really young when she was stricken, if she’s been there for 14 years and is only 72.

And a busted nose and a low kick seems more appropriate than an felony charge.

Wow....fourteen years ago she was only 58. Sad. Didn’t know this.

Cochran lives in the same home as his long time executive assistant...he “rents” a room from her..she has traveled with him extensively on the government dime for years..this is related to the primary...

Despicable moron thinks invading the privacy of Mrs. Cochran will make his favored GOP primary candidate look better. Pure evil.

I don’t know all the characters involved, but anybody who would break into an alzheimers hospital room is dangerous and should be locked up. This is the kind of person who you hear about during Presidential Election years, bombing the campaign offices of their opponents. The hospital was at fault for allowing this clown to get in there. He could have put something in her IV line. I wouldn’t put it past him.

Absolutely unacceptable tactic. Don’t care how much of a liberal RINO Cochran may be, that is way beyond the line.

Cochran himself may have had this done this to take the wind out of criticism for his live in assistant. The live in arrangement with his assistant was all over the news cycles this week here. The timing of this is suspicious.

That kind of inference is in the same box as the Nursing Home invasion. How low can you go?

Would you feel better about it if he divorced his wife and married the assistant? Assuming what your are insinuating is actually happening.

Man accused of exploiting Sen. Cochran's ill wife

When I read the title ... I wondered if the 'exploiter' referred to was Sen. Cochran himself ......

Cochran has been embroiled in a series of high-profile scandals involving his relationship with his executive assistant, from whom he rents an apartment in Washington and who has accompanied him on trips to some 42 countries across five continents since 2002.

According to Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle, Sen. Cochran and executive assistant Kay Webber “traveled eight times to France, five times to Italy, four times to Israel, and twice to Japan."

The full list of countries they traveled to includes: Italy, France, Brussels, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Hungary, Russia, Norway, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Malta, Austria, and Czech Republic in Europe; Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile in South America; Guatemala, and Mexico in North and Central America; Japan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Republic of the Philippines, and South Korea in Asia; Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Azerbaijan, Oman, and United Arab Emirates in the Middle East, to Morocco; and Egypt, Cape Verde, and South Africa in Africa.

Nauseating.

If this is what it takes to win, then winning is without value.

We — this clown, anyway — has become the very thing he supposedly is against.

Throw the book at him.

...doesn’t matter WHAT the incumbent did.

You don’t beat one by being one.

The sicko perp supports Cochran’s GOP primary opponent. If you have evidence to support your obtuse theory, then share it with the local LEO.

Probably a smart political move if Cochran did it to get sympathy. If his opponent is behind it, it has to be the stupidest political move in Mississippi history. May ensure a Cochran win if his opponent doesn’t disavow it in the harshest possible terms.

What evidence do you have other than a picture with McDaniel?

My theory is supported by all the OTHER scummy stuff the GOPe has done over the past 20 years. This is right up their alley.

The last paragraph makes my point entirely.

THIS is what has been all over the local news for the past week or so worth of news cycles.

The timing of this by Cochran’s supposed ‘opponent’s supporter’ is suspicious. VERY suspicious.
