Its the kind of conservative media story only conservatives understand.
The latest numbers are out for Michael Savages radio show. Recall that Savage was a key player in the battle between Sean Hannity and Cumulus radio. A battle that had an exasperated Hannity finally firing Cumulus, as reported here in NewsBusters at the time. But not before Savage, whom Cumulus had in the wings to replace Hannity in the latters Cumulus slots, took shots at Hannity, gloating at taking Hannitys slot.
The Savage numbers tell a revealing tale of conservatism in the media. So lets start with the brand new numbers themselves, numbers supplied by Nielsen Audio. They are the numbers for April last month -, and cover 52 of Americas major radio markets. We will directly compare them here with Sean Hannitys last numbers before being replaced on Cumulus stations - which is to say Hannitys numbers for December, 2013. The percentages cited again, these are from Nielsen Audio (formerly known as Arbitron) are nothing if not startling.

Online, when the Mets are on, you can switch to an out-of-town station to find Hannity.
Savage replaced Hannity on WVNN in Huntsville, Alabama.
Savage is horrible. The man is the living personification of Verbal Diarrhea.
The guys running Cumulus are idiots.
Savage sells anger. He doesn’t offer ideas. He doesn’t want anything to be done. But he offers a lot of anger.
He’s more in line with the caricature the left-wing has of right-wing talk radio.
Weiner (Savage) is occasionally useful, depending. Borders, Language, Culture is totally correct though.
He throws in invective against Israel from time to time, which is in line with the left’s propaganda against the Jewish state.
Bi-polar doesn’t cut it on radio long-term....
As long as his earphones keep working, even if he's the only one listening, I'm sure he'll be content.
I gave Savage a chance but - his show rolls out like he has Adult Attention Deficit Disorder - he’s all over the place most of the time. Plus - his bragging about taking Hannity’s slot got to be a bit obnoxious.
Hannity though has gone downhill with all the banter between him and his crew. It's awful.
Our local station replaced Savage 2-3 years ago. Savage spent half his time savaging other conservative talk-radio hosts.
I think Sean would be better served without his new crew (and banter) and without that Dupree guy. Sean always calls the Dupree guy “the most connected man in DC”, but I’ve never even heard of him, before.

Is Savage even on in NYC anymore?
NYC morning drive time radio is dead, btw. There is Imus and NOTHING else.
I’ve been listening to Terri Gross on NPR on Sirius, that’s how bad it is. (Mike Church is on Sirius Patriot and folks may like him and that’s OK, but he does nothing for me.)
There’s an opportunity there for SOMEONE!
Yeah, I can’t take Savage.
I enjoy Savage.
Hannity? It’s a serious challenge to listen more than a few minutes...
Neither is great, but I’ll take Savage, not for his political poin t of view, but for entertainment value-—
Hannity is an egomaniac. I can’t stand listening to him tell me about his life, how hard he worked over and over and over .like he’s the only one who toiled in the field before he made it to the big time.
Also, his products suck. I spent $1600.00 on that dumb-ass water softener and it’s never worked! He’s selling snake oil to a carnival of fools.
Hannity is a joke and I quit listening. Anyway, he’s a probably a paid shill who works for the Dems as an off-set to the GOP. As if we don’t have enough shills.
In 1988, I listened to Rush to find out what was going on.
Now, WHEN I listen, it’s to find out how much of what I know is going on he won’t have the courage to mention.
Totally agree on the banter with Sean’s crew, always talking about his receptionist/call screener’s marriage coming up. It’s forced me to turn to Michael Medved which with respect to MM, is a pretty desperate thing to do.
