Whistleblower retaliation in the VA scandal
Breitbart ^ | May 19 ,2014 | by JOHN HAYWARD

It's just not a proper scandal party until we've got alleged retaliation against whistleblowers. The Coloradoan brings us such a story from Fort Collins, one of several hospitals and clinics involved in the VA scandal:

The whistleblower behind the federal investigation of the Fort Collins Veterans Affairs clinic said she was put on two-week unpaid leave for not "cooking the books" when scheduling appointments.

Lisa Lee, a former Navy reservist now on active duty in Hawaii, told the Coloradoan she and another scheduler were transferred from Fort Collins in March 2013 for refusing to hide wait times between desired appointment dates and actual dates. She said the suspension came after she filed an internal grievance about the transfer and scheduling practices.

"Why are they throwing me under the bus when I'm trying to say what the problem is?" Lee asked. It's one of those questions that pretty much answers itself. She's convinced she was punished to set an example for other schedulers.

As if things couldn't get any sleazier, Lee's treatment changed rather dramatically after she started blowing that whistle at federal overseers:

When she started talking with federal oversight agencies, Lee said administrators at the VA offered her a deal that removed the suspension from her record and paid her for those two weeks. The deal was contingent on ending any whistleblowing behavior at the clinic, she said. It was a matter of principle to continue the fight, she said. The idea of returning to the VA didn't appeal either.

"Look what I'd be going back to: a snake pit," she said.

She mildly defended the author of the email, saying someone in his position as a telehealth coordinator "didn't make the decision. He was told what to do."

No reason for her to accept a deal. She now has enough proof to win an easy settlement from the VA.

There must be a Democrat in the White House.

One thing about government employees, they never seem to be disciplined or fired when they do the wrong or sleazy thing. They have much more of a chance to get punished severely for doing the right thing. And people wonder why government is held to such low regard!

I had forgotten about something not only is obama killing off our Vets, didn’t the VA spend $500 million dollars on new furniture?

Both TV shows (Bones and 24 hours: LIve Another Day) are very similar to this.

In the case of Bones, someone is murdered by Delta Forces, and eventually they go after ... well watch the story.

And, of course, in 24: Live Another Day, Mr. Bauer is considered a terrorist.

Fox TV hit it on the nose last night...

Not surprising. Federal bureaucrats who feel their lifetime job free of responsibility is threatened are always retaliating against whistle blowers, despite it being illegal to do so.

I am referring to the two shows on last night (May 19th) that seems to be on target to what some of these folks will be subjected to...

I caught the last 10 minutes of Bones while waiting for 24 to come on. Although I am not a fan of the show, that portion of the episode was very well done. 24 was good except for their portrayal of Marines. Makes my teeth itch watching how H'Wood ruins Marines.

Point is, both episodes were betrayal of people who did their job for the government (in a sense).

The drone operator was victimized... As was Jack Bauer...

Truth sometimes is stranger than Fiction...

The Scheduler was accused of cooking the books for trying to help people and do her job properly...

Basically, Bones is a story where they recover all sorts of information that allows quite a few government officials to be blackmailed.

In the Bones episode, Booth did not trust anyone at the FBI (and rightly so).

Another title to this story:

DemonRats Hold VA Hostage to promote their wicked agenda

And considering what the Zero-Man (Idiot-in-chief) is doing with ICE, Americans may need to start arming themselves... Just for their own safety...
