I was reading the other day that the average college debt now is $30,000. And I thought, wow, that’s a lot. Until I realized that’s what a medium priced car costs now.

OBVIOUSLY...What we need is another Cash For Clunkers program.

Do I really need a sarcasm tag?

The picture that is claimed to be in Swindon is actually in Avonmouth, just like one further below in the article.

Makes very little sense. A private company with that kind of stockpile would cut down production, increase the sales force and lower prices.
Of course, Government Motors have no incentive to do so, production quotas are the key, just like in old Soviet.
Union controlled shops I would expect be slow to adjust.
Companies pay taxes on the value of their inventory do they not?
So why would this go on and on? I suspect there may be something to the hoax claim.

“Below is shown just a few of the 57,000 cars (and growing) that await delivery ....”

That’s not a lot of cars, when you consider that a car-carrier ship holds about 8,000 cars.

I fell for this story too, particularly due to the “time stamp” that supposedly was so recent. But it seems to be baloney — outdated (albeit real) photos. http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/unsoldcars.asp

Sorry, I just got here and have not already read the many other replies advising you that this report is bogus.

But it is.

Of all the BS claims made this in this article; this is the BSieist...

As it is, there are more cars than there are people on the planet with an estimated 10 billion roadworthy cars in the world today.

This article has been posted, reposted, and debunked multiple times already.

Those Dodge Durangos that you see above, for instance, are from pre-bankruptcy Chrysler...not current pictures.

Other pics are from rail marshaling yards and ports where you get surges of vehicles based on shipping schedules.

Those Acuras are 2 generations old.

Old pics.
