Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell's win continues GOP establishment surge

Incumbent Republicans appeared poised to cruise to victory in key primary elections Tuesday, offering fresh evidence that the party’s establishment wing has successfully neutralized outside conservative groups that have vexed congressional leaders since the rise of the tea party.

In Kentucky, Sen. Mitch McConnell, the party’s leader in the Senate, easily won renomination for a sixth term against a tea-party-backed challenger who hoped to tap into tea party activists’ distrust of GOP leaders in Washington. Shortly after polls closed, the Associated Press declared McConnell the winner.

McConnell now faces what will probably be a more significant challenge in the general election from Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, who glided to the Democratic nomination Tuesday.

As in Kentucky, an effort by conservative groups to unseat an ally of House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) appeared to fizzle in Idaho. Rep. Mike Simpson was on track to defeat his tea-party-funded challenger, Bryan Smith, with help from a late infusion of outside spending from establishment groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

This is a moral victory. If anything, McConnell will be forced to stay to the right, at least till November. He knows now that there is a sizable vote ready to go against him. We don’t have to defeat every establishment Republican to get the point across. Bevin was not a great candidate and heavily underfunded, but he still got almost 36% of the vote. McConnell has been given his warning and he knows now there are enough Republicans who could stay home and doom his reelection chances.

Well, do the math.

Show is NOW how you can get the Democrats and the Independents to vote “Conservative” when you can not even win in a Republican Primary where there are very few Commies?

You only need a small portion of that 36% to vote for the Democrat to kick McConnell out forever.

Ditch Mitch in the General, as an example for the others. _____________________________________________________________ YES! YES! YES! Screw Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham and all the GOP Establishment s.o.b. I'm to the point that I don't give a sh** about the GOP winning control of the Senate. A lying, scheming, underhanded, demonic Republican is just as bad as a lying, scheming, underhanded, demonic DemocRAT. I hope McConnell loses in November and the same goes for Graham and Cochran should they win their Primaries. And I don't need any sermons on what B. Hussein Obama will do his last two years in Office with a Democrat Senate. The Republicans have never done much of anything to stop him. I remember, in the not too distant past when the GOP had the White House, Senate and The House and we still kill babies in the womb, increased the National Debt, and spent money like a crack whore's pimp. So, I don't want to hear any "Unity Sermons".
Ditch Mitch and Spank Lindsey in November 2014

“Both” political parties have to much to lose if the GOP-E started to vote for ideas that would actually CONSERVE America.

Boehner, as Speaker, will not appoint a House Special Committee to investigate the IRS targeted harassment of Conservative Groups, because the GOP-E and the Democrats want to keep on making the Federal Government a larger tax burden every year.

How else can they keep us from open rebellion? Well, other than the armed Obamadrones, and yeah, the Post Office SWAT Teams.

Son-of-a-Mitch McConnell will continue to increase our tax burden, just as he has proudly done for the last 24 years.

FORWARD, TO THE BOTTOM!

Mitch can only survive if he spends the next 6 months voting conservative.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Yep;and that is exactly what he’ll do because he knows a lot of dumb a** Republicans will say: “Oh, sweet. Little Mitch really is a Conservative. All those ignorant, Redneck, flag-waving, Patriotic TEA Partiers were wrong. Oh how I love Mitch. I just can’t wait to vote for him in November so he can bend me over again in January and screw me for six more years.”

Did the Dems vote early and often for Mitch or is it a closed primary?

Your problem is that quite a few of us still won't vote for your liberal republican candidates.

I voted against Cornyn in the primary. He won anyway.

I won't be voting for the liberal bastard in the general election.

Insanity?

Not really. Mitch is NOT on your side. For dissing and attacking the TEA Party (and not attacking Rustler Reid and trying to enforce the Constitution ) he needs to go down.

We are still working on fixing the problem of unelecting a Senate RINO 18 years ago.

So it goes.

Wrong!
Do the math and grow up.
Having the majority in the Senate matters.
THE NRA ENDORSEMENT MATTERS
THE NRLC ENDORSEMENT MATTERS

if you allow a pro-abort gun grabber to win, out of spite, you are NOT a “conservative” at all.

Majority, minority leaders, speakers and important committee chairmen almost always win elections. Their constituents know the benefits of such a position.

Yeah; the "bend over and let me screw you for six more years" position.
