Bill and Hillary Clinton actively campaigned for Chelsea’s MIL, but Marjorie Margolies lost her Democratic primary bid for Congress. Her opponent 37 y/o Brendan Boyle, a state legislator who raised the least amount of money and lacked powerful Democrat connections lead Margolies by a whopping 58.5% to 22.4%, per AP projections.
..... fem/libbers---EMILY’s List and NARAL Pro-Choice America---mounted attacks on Boyle’s anti-abortion voting record. He will face Republican Dee Adcock in the safe-Democratic district November.
Bill Clinton headlined a fundraiser, and made an ad, and a robo-call on Margolies' behalf. Hillary headlined a posh fundraiser, which the ex-congresswoman did not attend.

OTOH, Boyle supported legislation requiring doctors in abortion clinic to have hospital privileges, forcing the clinics to meet medical standards....which resulted closing down many abortionists....

Hafta admire the way Boyle handles the issue----legislation forcing the baby killers to close-up shop was pretty darn sharp.

I may be reading this wrong, but why would someone be jailed for succumbing to a scam? Wouldn’t the one succumbing be the same as the victim of a scam/fraud?
Alas, when the Nigerians got their hands on Edwards' money, they did a 23 skidoo. Having failed to come up w/ a ROI, Edward got nabbed by the long arm of the law. Mezvinsky pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 felony counts.. He did hard time----spent 7+ years in a federal prison w/ no chance of parole, and still owes millions in restitution.
Democrat Congressman 2014 candidate Marjory Margolies is also no stranger to the dollar disease. Because of her husband's felony convictions, she filed for bankruptcy. But the court would NOT discharge her of her debts, finding that she could NOT explain where some $1 million in assets had vanished, in the previous 4 year span...during Mezvitsky's crime spree.

I don’t remember hearing about this back when chelsey married the son, but if it’s brought up during hillary’s campaign, it’ll be “old news”.
It’s an interesting tactic that I’ve seen used to good effect. Declare oneself to be pro-choice, but distinguish that from being pro-abortion. Support treating abortion clinics like out-patient surgical centers while adopting the old Clinton-era “safe, legal and rare” language.
Net result IS a serious reduction in abortion providers and abortions. Not a perfect, 100% solution, but a decent enough incremental one in an environment where even under the best circumstances abortion is a generation or two away from being re-outlawed.
I actually am beginning to believe that Ms. Clinton is not the candidate the Democrats think she is!!! Her advance book sales stink, she lies...all the time, and her political coattails bring forth political destruction!!!

If Ed Mezvinsky, the disgraced father of Chelsea Clinton's newly-announced fiancé Marc Mezvinsky, attends his own son's wedding, he might want to consider ducking out before the reception. Mezvinsky was convicted in 2002 of bilking his associates, friends and family members -- even his own late mother-in-law -- out of millions of dollars.
Despite being released in April 2008 after serving five years in prison, Mezvinsky remains on federal probation and still owes almost $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.
An ABC News investigation revealed that Mezvinsky, a former Democratic Congressman from Iowa, had been caught up in a series of Nigerian e-mail scams and began to steal from people to further his schemes.
"He was always looking for the home run. He was always trying to find the business deal that would make him as wealthy as all the people in his social circle," said federal prosecutor Bob Zauzmer. According to Zauzmer, Mezvinsky, who is now 72, will be on supervised release, the federal version of probation, until 2011.
ABC News was unable to reach Ed Mezvinsky for a response, but did reach his ex-wife Marjorie. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky refused to comment on whether or not her ex-husband would be attending their son's wedding, referring all questions to a Clinton family spokesperson. Margolies-Mezvinsky did confirm that no wedding date has yet been set.
Asked whether Ed Mezvinsky would be attending the wedding, a spokesperson for former President Bill Clinton said he didn't know. "I don't know anything at this point beyond the fact that they're engaged," Matt McKenna told ABC News in an e-mail.
In their heyday, Ed Mezvinsky and his then-wife Marjorie, herself a former Democratic congresswoman from Pennsylvania as well as an ex-TV reporter, were part of the political and social elite in Philadelphia. The Mezvinskys were close to Bill and Hillary Clinton and were frequent guests at the White House. Prosecutors say Mezvinsky exploited his ties to the Clintons, including his son's relationship with Chelsea, to woo investors to contribute more money to his schemes.
In an interview with Des Moines Register from prison in 2003, Mezvinsky said he found the Nigerian Black Ink scam convincing. "The Nigerian man came out with a chemical, threw it on the money, and it all turned to $100 bills. He gave me 10 to have them tested back home. And they were real," Mezvinsky told the Register.

Good question——except I don’t think he’s that smart—— to know how to launder money.
Then again, maybe Marjory briefed him. She couldn’t tell the bankruptcy judge where the million bucks was that she accumulated during Ed’s 4-year crime spree.

Good point; I’ll always give someone a chance if they have all the right enemies. Chris Christie in NJ is like that; hated by the baby-killers, teachers’ unions, and other assorted leftists.
I love to hear a candidate say he/she’s pro-life....but in this Brave New World, that aint gonna happen.
So we’d best use other criteria.....like knowing who their enemies are.
In the twisted world of lib/prog politics, we must become more sophisticated in our thinking.
Christie has consistently opposed abortion; it doesn’t win him many votes in a state like NJ, but his tax-cutting does.
When he got elected, his first visit was to a pro-family, pro-life group-—to thank them for their supprt.
