Support for the tea party has dropped to an all-time low, said a new CBS News poll released Wednesday. Just 15 percent of Americans told the pollsters that they are supporters of the tea party movement today, which is less than half the level of support at its peak of 31 percent in November 2010 shortly after the midterm election when the movement fueled a landslide Republican win to take majority control of the House.

He didn't need more money than McConnell, he needed enough money and publicity to be a serious candidate. After that, it was up to hime to have the instincts and vision in fast-moving events. From a distance, I didn't see that, and I didn't hear any passionate disgust about the invasion of the US or that EVerify is not the law of the land.
I like that acronym.

But like it or not, there comes a breaking point and my predictions may not be far off from the truth.
The elections of 2014 could be the first cycle where Tea Party conservatives "Go Galt". It may not be that noticeable, as turnout will be low, but the GOPe will be killed in 2016 without the energy and votes of conservatives like you and me.
I've already heard how McConnell's back-tracking on his "kill the Tea party" comment, courtesy of Ann Coulter last night...she's been dead to me since her infatuation with Chris Christie.
At some point the movement needs to have a core of leadership. What we now call the “Tea Party” is a vague concept. There needs to be a real movement where candidates are vetted.
We should look to the UKIP in Britain for the blueprint of how to go about it. To try to hatch the movement within the GOP is just spinning the wheels without getting anywhere.
There simply must be a formal movement to transform politics as usual in this country. And it cannot be from within the GOP.
I agree. Neither party can unravel the banker/elitist/globalist mess that's destroying all nations. In the US, both political parties are being kept occupied with social issues.
A smart candidate could build across-the-polical-spectrum for EVerify and US jobs for US citizens. Add to that an end to globalist over-reach, pointing out the countries that have been destoyed from the George 1 administration until now, the out-of-whack pro-elitist banking scheme, returning to state's rights, and there's a majority to be had.
Rand Paul, in spite of some very weird thoughts, might be positioned to do that.
In November, conservatives need to vote for the democrat candidate in McConnells race. Same for Boehner. Its worth the sacrifice of 2 seats and would create an atmosphere of shock and awe.
