“I get real sick and tired of the surly molasses like service at the Post Office”
Just like the “surly Black kids” who take two minutes to cross the street while you wait in your car, and all the while they are giving you that “go Eff yourself look,” and show you the crack of their a$$es.
I’m, running on shutting the post office, the VA, the EPA, and Education. I’ll add to the list as I go.
Here’s the plan for privatizing the mail service.
If a company has a business license to operate in a county or sate, they must make a postal pick up within 2 business days of receiving a call from anyone within the area. At least two pick ups per month.
They can do sooner if they want to be more competitive. People will pay more to have letters and bills picked up if they cannot or chose not to use electronic methods.
Packages will be delivered by UPS, FEDEX, DHL and anyone else as they are now.
The USPS will close in 2018 and the buildings and other assets sold off.
Employees have three years to retire or get another job.
I get it, they spend millions to advertise to those few souls without an address, like the homeless and the people who live way out in the woods and Alaskan bush....
or something
They are doing it on my street before the snow flies. (Sorry, I lie. In Calgary, it has snowed in every month.) Before November, they should have the change complete. The problem is, This neighbourhood is 40+ years old and there remain quite a few original owners in their late 60s or older. For many of them, it will be tough to get their mail, especially with snow and ice covered sidewalks. I don’t know how Canada Post will deal with that.
Not sure of the guidelines but centeralizing mail drops has been going on for several years.
