President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are being accused of ignoring the plight of a U.S. Marine imprisoned in Mexico on gun charges -- with no indication whether Kerry even brought up the case during high-level meetings this week in Mexico City.
"I don't think Kerry gives a damn about this guy," Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., told FoxNews.com on Thursday.
The case of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi is notable for the lack of public attention it's gotten from administration officials.
Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke out in 2011 on American hikers imprisoned in Iran, and her husband even traveled to North Korea in 2009 to retrieve two Current TV reporters locked up in the hermit kingdom.
According to Hunter's office, U.S. officials at the American consulate in Tijuana are working on the latest case. Tahmooressi has been jailed in Mexico since April 1.
But Hunter told FoxNews.com that he was told last week the matter hadn't reached the "secretary level."
"He can at least say something," Hunter said. "He's got a lot of leverage."
The secretary on Thursday is wrapping up his round of diplomatic visits in the Mexican capital, a day after meeting with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.

I was thinking the same thing. Get a bunch of former special forces and train together in Detroit. Then go to Mexico and break the guy out. I’d bet they wouldn’t lose a man. Obama really could find out about it on the news.

Seems that Kerry doesn’t give a damn about American servicemen unless they can be used to promote his political ambitions and agendas.

Maybe DOJ should threaten that if they don’t release him, they’ll restart Fast and Furious and get another 300 Mexican citizens killed.

Maybe I’m out of my damn mind but I would DEMAND his immediate release and if it wasn’t granted I’d send special forces in to free him from the prison. This is not acceptable, Mexico.

Ok how about something less bellicose, a state department advisory not to travel to Mexico. Maybe a depletion in tourist revenue would get their attention.
In any case the process moves far too slowly. Americans held unjustly abroad is subject that always gets my goat. You can bet your *ss I would have sent forces into Iran to free those hikers.
He wandered into Mexican territory accidentally with legally owned firearms and since he is an American like me, his comfort and safety is worth more than the offended sensibilities of a bunch of foreigners - any foreigners . - reason # 1
Reason # 2 - Mexico is a third rate, third world drug ridden, criminal, revolution racked scab on the face of the earth leaking putrescent criminals and drug dealers across our border while aiding and abetting illegal aliens of all descriptions and origins invading our once great Republic. For their own good, Mexicans would have been better off if we took over the entire piece of third rate real estate after the Mexican War - and so would have been we.
Otherwise, there is no reason why he shouldn’t be held accountable.

This marine and his mother need to declare his homosexuality and state that of all of the bloviating this president has done over his support of homosexuality he had done nothing to help this marine homosexual. Then when he gets out at a press conference with obama the marine needs to declare, ‘Hell No!’ I am not homosexual. I had to adapt, overcome to get out of that Mexican Hell Hole.
I heard on the radio, The Dana Show IIRC, that since his incarceration in Mexico; he’s received orders to report for duty. Now supposedly the Corps know where he is, so why the orders?
