A petition calling for intervention from President Barack Obama is currently hoping to get 100,000 signatures, the number required for the White House to respond. As of today, it has over 45,000 signatures.
It should not take some petty assed petition to make the USG act on behalf of a US citizen being held in a foreign country on some BS like this one.
Just goes to show, that petty assed petitions are needed in order for petty assed politicians to even remotely look like they’re doing the job they were elected to do...
