Multicultural Mayhem in Brooklyn: Is this the kind of "diversity" we want?
American Thinker ^ | 05/23/2014 | Jeannie DeAngelis

In the interest of furthering cross-culturalism, Presidential Medal of Freedom award winner/multicultural advocate/poet Maya Angelou once said that “[it was] time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.”

With that pluralistic thought in mind, why not begin that lesson with the story of an elderly Muslim immigrant from Pakistan living in Brooklyn, New York named Noor Hussein? According to prosecutors, 75-year-old Noor met his late wife, 66-year-old Nazar, in Pakistan, where they married before emigrating to Brooklyn.

Clearly the honeymoon was over, because Noor, which means "light" in Farsi, is currently on trial for beating Nazar to death with a 19th century-style laundry stick. Noor gave Nazar a brain hemorrhage after whacking her with the implement that, for lack of a washing machine, the woman used to stir their dirty clothes in a washtub.

Not for nothing (to use the standard Brooklyn vernacular), but from a cultural diversity point of view, stirring laundry with a big stick in a galvanized washtub right smack-dab in the heart of Brooklyn certainly does add color to the ethnic mosaic.

Nonetheless, what, pray tell, could possibly provoke this Muslim man to commit what American culture would normally view as a horrendous crime? Well, it seems Nazar made the fatal mistake of cooking her husband lentils for dinner instead of goat’s meat stew, which is what he had expressed a hankering for.

Lentils in place of goat meat was a big slip-up, because according to court papers, the “Defendant asked [his wife] to cook goat and [his wife] said she made something else.” In response to being offered a vegetarian meal, Noor beat Nazar about the head until her brain was bleeding profusely.

HERE IS WHAT THE DEFENSE PRESENTED BEFORE THE COURT:

She began the process of remediating Noor’s sullied reputation by schooling the courtroom.

First she admitted that Hussein did indeed thrash his wife with the laundry stick, but she explained to those in attendance that his crime should be manslaughter and not murder because in his home country, beating wives with various implements is customary.

Now, gentlemen of the FR jury, the defense is a CULTURAL defense. In other words -- America has to understand Islamic culture and not judge their culture by Western, White, American standards.

This reminds me of Oklahoma’s referendum just a few years ago when the citizens of the state voted to BAN considering Sharia law in Oklahoma’s judicial decisions.

It was passed overwhelmingly by Oklahoma’s citizens.

A Federal judge overturned the result of the referendum, calling it unconstitutional.

We were stupid to ever allow this murderous cult into the country. It ought to be expunged in every way that we can belatedly correct that horrible mistake.

The root word of diversity is divide. As in divided we fall.

I'd like to know what was the possible justification for letting this obvious Neanderthal immigrate to the United States in the first place.

Two points:

One, "diversity" is much like "communism." Both sound really great on paper. But in reality both lead only to violence.

Two, what happened to the old "melting pot" idea? Not very PC, I guess. Now, instead of immigrants adjusting to US society, US society must adjust to the immigrants.

All of this reminds me of that scene in the movie Gandhi, where columns of passing Hindus and Muslims suddenly attack each other. If we keep pushing the diversity idea, and ignore the melting pot idea, we'll see the same here.

Family reunification.

Letting some foul-tempered old Pakistani widower (what happened to his first wife/wives) join his son in America, and oh, by the way, he wants to bring along a cook/indentured servant so he marries an old Pakistani woman.

Does he get credit for making sure she won’t be a burden on the US taxpayer in her old age?

And this is to the benefit of ourselves and our posterity, how?

Over there, it’s THEIR ‘culture’.
Over HERE, it’s OUR culture.
We don’t take the Constitution with us when we leave OUR country.
They do NOT bring theirs with them into OUR country....................

The multi-culties have gone away from the melting pot idea. They now espouse the "mixed salad" idea, where all the components maintain their original properties, but come together in unity. Also, helps promote the "we need all the diversity or our salad will be too bland" concept. Of course, as you mention, great on paper, really dumb in implementation.

“The root word of diversity is divide.”

“Diversity”, when used in a discussion of Islam, is derived from two words, “divide” and “pervert” (perversity).
