The owners and two employees at a popular San Jose spa are charged with health insurance fraud, accused of billing insurers for chiropractic treatments, when in reality they were providing free mani-pedis.
The owners of the San Jose Chiro Spa are accused of using their spa, near Montague Expressway and 680, to bilk insurance companies out of more than $7 million, according to Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Christopher Kwok.
The investigation, dubbed "Operation Nail Polish," began in 2012. Prosecutors say an undercover investigator went into the spa numerous times for manicures and pedicures.
Employees reportedly took the investigator's insurance information and charged the insurance company for chiropractic treatments.

Prosecutors say about 90 percent of the spa's business was billed fraudulently.
The owners and employees will be in court next month for their arraignment.
Seems like all the customers who enjoyed the “free” services should have their butts in trouble, too
This is like the 3rd story I read this week of insurance rip offs. Just wait till ObamaCommiecare gets going, we’re going to have every criminal organization on earth treating like their own personal unlimited ATM.
Sure they will
Wow .. Now that’s close by.. ToGo’s is in that strip mall , I think.
“If you build it..they will come”
That's not covered under 0bamacare?
FWIW, this winter I felt like doing something weird, with it being so hard to get far from home. I got one of those full-deal pedicures. Yup, got my feet soaked in sudsy hot water, got the skin brushed of the bottoms of my feet so much it hurt and they're still recovering, got those ugly toenails and cuticles clipped. Got some really ugly nail polish and then my feet sat under a sunlamp for awhile.
And the gov is paying for that nonsense? Nothing there I can't do to myself.
ping
Ah yes that part of San Jose is close to Little Saigon....I am not shocked at all.
Tip. Iceberg.
