Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun control group spearheaded by billionaire former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has officially declared victory just one day after launching its campaign to get Chipotle to change its policy on customers carrying guns in its restaurants.
Everytown issued a statement Monday in reponse to reports some customers brandished large rifles in at least one of Chipotle's Texas locations last weekend.
In the statement, Everytown demanded the Mexican food chain create a "clear policy prohibiting guns in restaurants." Hours later, Chipotle announced it will request customers keep their guns at home from now on.
In an email to supporters Tuesday, Everytown celebrated what it described as a new era of safety at burrito joints.

Yup. I laugh at people who say how good Chipotle is for “Mexican” food. It’s awful. I haver about 10 tacquerias withing a 2 mile radius of me that are all much better.
Chipotle is to Tex-Mex or Mexican food what McDonalds is to a steakhouse.
Ate there once. Problem is, I’ve had good Mexican food. Once was enough.
Agreed.
Good luck with that, Chipotle. It didn’t work out very well for the Barbeque Pit.

Walk in wearing a mask and watch the little rats flee.
I hear ya brother.
Won’t eat there again.
The knife has two edges.
Careful, wouldn’t want you to cut off your nose to spite your face.
Inconceivable!
Remind me of the sign on the lawn “ this house is protected by armed citizen but my nieghbors house next door is anti gun”
HMMMM, my local Chipotle’s has posted no indication of asking concealed carry permit holders to not enter their restaurant with a firearm. The sign in the window yesterday was the same sign which is in many establishments (and required by insurance carriers) and only warns that entry without a permit while carrying is a felony in Texas. Notwithstanding the corporate announcements of their desires or positions, until the legally mandated 30.06 sign is posted, I will continue to enjoy Chipotle’s. If the required 30.06 sign is posted, I will never darken their doors again.
Other than laziness, does anything prevent us from protesting with signs in front of their stores. I’m sure they would feel some pain in the Dallas and Houston suburbs (where gun ownership is virtually state law), if we protested.
