A court in India's capital has dropped a weapons charge against a New York City police officer and is allowing him to leave the country, his lawyer said Saturday.
Officer Manny Encarnacion was arrested in March while visiting his wife in New Delhi after Indian airport authorities discovered three bullets he had accidentally packed in his luggage. He had been out on bail since his arrest, but was barred from leaving India until the case was resolved.
Before leaving for India, Encarnacion went to a police firing range and put the bullets in a coat pocket, according to New York City police

Bullets or cartridges?
the question now is
Does the FELON keep his Job with the NYPD??
Ignorance of the law is no excuse ...
And what was the TSA doing when he tried to board the plane in the US?
What about our marine in Mexico !?!?!
When I grew up bullets were like wire coat hangers, they were almost self producing, 22 shells seemed to be part of the lint in every messy drawer in America and in every room from the kitchen junk drawer to the kids rooms.
Bullets are like pennies, they are all over the place, not in every household today, but in many shooter’s homes, that is still true.
This is India letting the NYPD know that they're no longer a country you can ignore with impunity.
Didn’t New York just arrest and convict a man for having empty shotgun shells?
What is the felony?
.
Personally, when I travel without weapons (rarely) I use totally different bags than I use in my normal day to day comings and goings. No reason to get jacked up by the TSA because you have something extra in your bag.
just because they didn’t charge him does not mean he did not commit the crime, clearly he did, and it is a Very Serious Felony over there. Obviously not they type of person that can follow the basic laws, let alone enforce them.
Zero sympathy for a Union Thug being held to the letter of the Law. How much money has this clown extorted from citizens for petty b.s. ?
Would New York City or State offer the same courtesy to someone from a nearby state who was caught violating their law? I don’t think so.
Seems to me if he had the bullets upon arrival in India than he had them when he was in the airport leaving NYC. Which means he was breaking NYC law (unless it is lawful for an off duty policeman to carry loose ammo around).
NYC likes to arrest people when they leave one La Guardia terminal and go outside to connect to another. That brief walk, to make a connection, with an other wise lawful weapon puts the person in NYC and makes them subject to arrest.
Sorta interesting to see one of NYC’s finest get hosed on a similar law in India.
