According to Drudge Report editor, Joseph Curl, whether the scandal is allowing veterans to languish and die unattended, Benghazi, Obamacare, running guns, targeting conservatives, spying, or "trolling phone records of the media," the Obama scandal strategy kicks in almost before the crisis hits the banner of the Drudge Report, On Wednesday, Curl described what he considers the three-part Obama scandal formula in his Washington Times column.
"Each time Obama is faced with a scandal, he does three things," Curl explained. No matter the crisis, President Obama, first goes public, telling Americans "that he just didn't know," and expresses his outrage.
Secondly, Obama deflects blame, however vaguely to his predecessor, former President George Bush. Finally, according to Curl, Obama throws up a barrier to any future direct questions regarding the crisis by burying it under a "mass of bureaucratic red tape."
This third step is most effective, Curl observes, because once the matter is under a "blue ribbon investigation," it allows the White House and the president to dodge questions by expressing their regret that they cannot discuss it while under investigation. Most important, the investigation buys months, maybe even years, of time to allow the issue to fade in the court of public opinion.
