GORLUVKA, Ukraine (BNc) — A Bible training building doubling as a worship location was taken over by armed insurgents this morning (US time) during worship, Howell Ferguson, Stateside Coordinator of the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver, said on Facebook.
Howell preaches with the North Jackson church of Christ in Jackson, Tenn., and works with the extension program of BVBID.
The building is used for the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Ukraine and for Christian worship and activities of the Central church of Christ in Gorluvka.
They were given only hours hours to remove personal property.
“I have had no contact with anyone this weekend as graduation was Saturday. Please keep our brethren including staff and students in your prayers,” he wrote.
In his April report published online May 5, Howell mentioned that he did not travel this year to Ukraine for the graduation ceremonies because of the unrest in the country.
Seven students were to have been graduated yesterday, Howell said.

"During the morning worship service in Gorlovka(the church I attend), armed men(they called themselves the troops of the Russian Federation) came in and demanded we leave as they were seizing control of the building for their own purposes. After much negotiation, we were given 2 hrs to remove the contents from the building that we wanted and the rest would be destroyed. And they also told us that this building now belongs to Russian Federation. While we were taking out stuff they watched us standing there with the guns. Although we were not able to take out the everything. The TV, washing machines, fridges were left there. We all together started to take everything out. It took about 3 hours to carry most of the stuff out. Then it took another 3 hours to load 2 trucks. So it was just very shocking and stressful. Some girls lost consciousnesses and started crying. It is good that they didn't take us hostage cause it could be possible in fact. Anyway now it passed and I'm at home but I still cannot believe in what happened."

If that’s his position, then fine. I didn’t know Soros was for freedom and I didn’t know his position on this matter. Do you favor Ukraine being taken over by the Russians? What’s your point?

I don’t know what Soros has to do with Russian Federation soldiers stealing property from a Bible School and church. Are you in the Russian Federation or are pro-Russian. I know some of the people associated with the school there. They are in the eastern part of Ukraine that’s fallen under the pro Russian alignment. What are you talking about?
If there were Russian Federation soldiers that far into the Ukraine, they certainly wouldn’t be identifying themselves as such. And the pastor whose blog was the source of the original post didn’t mention those (note that the Mods have corrected the headline to delete that falsehood which you repeat.)
As for the Soros vs Putin matchup, I’ll just get some popcorn and enjoy the show. The current borders are no more legitimate than those that existed in 1900 or 1920 or 1950 or 1970.

PAR35, I’m not a George Soros defender. He’s not for freedom. But I’m aware that Russia is expansionist and taking advantage of the weakness of the United States. So if China invades Taiwan and throws Chritians out of their meeting place, will you chalk that up to George Soros prooaganda?

I have friends and acquaintances at Bible camps and preachers schools all over Ukraine, to include Zhitomir.
All of us should be praying that God protects these men and women while Satan sifts for their souls and the souls of the people they are trying to reach. Maybe the wording was wrong in the post, but the truth is still that evil men are destroying the works of God while they can.
It is not the folks who wish to have an independent Ukraine who invade the school. The eastern side of Ukraine is largely controlled by these Russian loyalists who also were hindering voting.
