European elections 2014: EU citizens vote against immigrants, austerity and establishment

Marine Le Pen declared victory in European Union elections tonight as voters backed populist, far-Right and Left-wing parties in a backlash against immigration and the euro's economic policies.

In a stunning defeat for the European political establishment, exit polls forecast that the French Front National, which wants to leave the euro and the EU, would win 25 per cent of the vote...

...Miss Le Pen's Front National will increase its number of MEPs from three to 24 in an earthquake for French and eurozone politics.

"Our people demand one type of politics: politics by the French, for the French, with the French. They don't want to be led anymore from outside, to submit to laws," said Miss Le Pen.

"Tonight is a massive rejection of the EU. What is happening in France prefigures what will happen in all European countries, the return of the nation."

The French political establishment, the Gaullist UMP and Socialists, were in disarray last night after the far-Right Front National convincingly won the EU election to become France's largest political party in the EU assembly.

"It will mean that France would disappear from Europe's political scene. It would be a tragedy for our country," warned Alain Lamassoure... Socialist sources close to President Hollande spoke of "a new crisis of authority" and market turbulence for his beleaguered administration that struggling to pull France out of recession.

"Tonight is the start of the crisis. The shock in Europe and the world will be very violent if the far-Right comes first in France," said a senior aide.

President Hollande has called a crisis cabinet meeting on Monday morning to discuss his government's response to the biggest political upheaval in a generation.

Manuel Valls, the Socialist prime minister, described the result as a "very grave moment for France and Europe".

Time to reverse the social engineering across Europe! Then maybe we can do the same here in the USA.

Most of the upheaval in France and UK is over immigration. Hope the Dems over here are watching.

According to one of the losers, the voters threw a temper tantrum.

Shades of Tom Brokaw.

Hope the Dems over here are watching.

You better hope the GOP leadership in Congress is watching. They are the ones pushing for amnesty.

the voters threw a temper tantrum.

Shades of the GOP-E. They always say the conservative voters are throwing a temper tantrum when their liberal candidate loses.

Quite a few here on FR are still butthurt about conservatives not voting for Romney.

Sounds like the the revulsion of these establishment European weenie “leaders” to “far right” parties who wish to retain their national sovereignty and prevent foreigners from invading their lands by open borders matches the revulsion of the establishment Republicrats/Diocans to tea partiers and conservatives here in the States.

Hoorah!

Hysteria from the liberal English newspapers.

Just read an article in our NY Times where the writer calls these groups
fringe groups. Sound familiar.

Trying to work up the immigrants into burning a few cars tonight? Seems like that is the thing to do over there.

This cant be true.

People on this forumn and the RINOs tell me that opposition to mass immigration is political suicide, we must simply allow any in who want in, and any mention of restriction is evidence of bigotry and hate.

So how could both UKIP and the FN have won?

Nah. Cant be true.

The smarties tell me so.

“You better hope the GOP leadership in Congress is watching. They are the ones pushing for amnesty”

Wrong. Amnesty needs the house, senate and president to pass. Gop has control of only the house.

Fact is the dems are 100% behind amnesty. The only thing stopping it is the house.

If the gop house opposes amnesty by anything less than 215-18, amnesty passes.

Let me repeat. If 18 gop house members decide to vote for amnesty, then amnesty will become law.

The fact that it is not law, tells you where most of the gop stands.

Now I know you think the gop must be robots and all must follow your commands, but they are independent humans with their own minds and free will.

So yes, amnesty is always in danger of passing despite most the gop being opposed.
