Last year Google honored Cesar Chavez on Easter Sunday.

Last week Google celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube.

But Memorial Day this year drew a blank.

...

It is lost on these liberals that the only reason they could have a company like “Google” in the first place, is because of the Patriots that gave them the right. Sadly, the Progressives will never get it...until they achieve their ultimate aims of destroying our way of life, and they will be rolled into the darkness they created.

Surprised at ‘Dogpile’...they have used patriotic themes in the past...must be some infiltrators from Google on the payroll. Interesting that you saw a homage to the NHL playoffs...when I check in at Dogpile; their ‘Cinco de Mayo’ page is still up. Go figure. As for ‘Google’..? Well...I prefer not to use the language that describes them adequately.

I got rid of Mozilla when the thought control commissars took over. I have used Opera ever since. I will not use Mozilla again.

Are you also blocking Google Analytics? That’s where a good portion of their income is derived from. I use Opera browser and even on the create Reply page Google Analytics is there. I use Ghostery to block them.

So many Americans have their perception of the Iraq war from the insurgents’ and supporting media point of view.

In 2004 when we convoyed throughout the southern part of the country we were often mobbed by cheering crowds whenever we got stuck in traffic. But the media focused on Fallujah, Ramadi and insurgent strongholds in Baghdad. All they cared about was Coalition and Iraqi deaths at the hands of the insurgents they supported.

These anti-Google threads always pop up around the holidays and I'm always amused by them. What do you guys care about how some private sector tech company chooses to decorate their web page on the holidays?

Anybody that knows more than a little bit about Google will know that they take pride in going off the beaten and predictable path. So yes, their "doodles" are going to often surprise you and commemorate the birthday of some obscure zoologist or the Independence Day of some African country you never heard of. What they aren't going to do is put up the same tired cliched images that you would expect on the "traditional holidays."

It's just Google being Google. Founded by a couple of overgrown kids who still roller blade around campus and come up with wacky concepts like geeky looking glasses that record video and cars that drive themselves. Sometimes their wacky ideas work and sometimes they don't. But they aren't afraid to shun the conventional and dare to be different.

Plus, they are billionaires many times over and really couldn't care less that some of us get our panties in a twist because they didn't come up with a special doodle for Memorial Day.

We've been running Pale Moon lately. It’s based on
Firefox but it's open source so it not related to the actual Mozilla Firefox people.

Now the ‘Cinco de Mayo’ image is gone; replaced by the generic dog with a ball.
