The act is likely to be further watered down as it heads to the Senate, as senators have generally been less skeptical of warrantless surveillance of Americans than have members of the House.
The House passed the bill by a 303-121 vote, with a majority in both parties in favor of it.

The Democrats and Liberals, and Obama, escecially, will not be happy until we are a full totalitarian state.
sensenbrenner was pissed but i wonder if he thought this might happen.

Experience has made me very leery of any piece of legislation called the “Freedom” Act.
Who runs America? It sure isn’t the people.
HAHAHAHA. “Freedom act”
Another stupid bastardization by politicians. Like AFFORDABLE care act. Violence against women act. Defense of Marriage act.
As the article points out, a majority of republicans and a majority of democrats voted for the legislation, which infers that a minority of both parties voted against.
It has nothing to do with political parties or being liberal/conservative. It has to do with foreign policy doctrines.
The Liberal Interventionists(D), the NeoCons(R), and the Realists(R&D) support NSA eavesdropping. The antiwar democrats and the isolationist republicans oppose
Raise your hand if you are surprised.
The people voting for or against this ARE members of the government.
Yep, always 1984 like BS. Patriot Act, Freedom Act...
We had a Freedom Act. It was called the American Revolution.
