I hear you, but in my lifetime you can never trust a person - a person; forget candidate - who does not believe in the 2A.
It tells you all that you will need to know about how a person views the role of government, their view on personal responsibility, the right(s) of the individual, and even how much of a power-monger they are.
A strong 2A candidate is a strong 1A candidate (and 4, 10, &c.)
I was all ginned up for Carson until I learned that he thinks that Rights come from Man and not from God (which is what he is actually saying when he speaks of limiting the Right to self defense via firearm based on something so stupid as geography.).
I hope you just forgot the < /sarc > tag, but just in case- nope. Your original "By all means, let’s choose our candidate based upon the color of his skin as the number one priority" did not require a tag, the sarcasm was plain to see.
In evaluating prospects for public office color/ethnicity etc. should not matter with otherwise qualified candidates, would you agree? And if the best guy is lily white, coal black or anywhere between (or not even a guy!), we should lend our support.
Now, agreeing on who is the best...that's the tough one!
That is not an unreasonable position.
