WASHINGTON (AP) -- First lady BIG MOMA Obama is answering Republicans in Congress who want to roll back healthier school meal standards, holding an event at the White House to highlight the success of the health guidelines.
The Tuesday event is an unusual move for the first lady, who has largely stayed away from policy fights since she lobbied for congressional passage of a child nutrition law in 2010.

Doesn’t anybody pack a lunch anymore? I used to take my lunch to school in a lunch box or a bag. Kids probably would like it better than the school lunch.

I’ve read about districts that threw away a home packed lunch and made kids take the school lunch.

Like Mikey in the old cereal commercial, the mooch will eat anything! a common misconception about Mikey... actually Mikey would not eat everything... he hated everything...
"he won't eat it.. he hates everything." "he likes it! hey, Mikey!"
because Mikey the picky eater liked the cereal, his brothers figured it had to taste good... :)

send a packed lunch with your son, or send a supplemental bag of food for him.
Yogurt, fruit, sandwich, cheese, carrots and dip, graham crackers
If the school interferes or resists, get your doctor to write this as a medical directive or prescription
teens getting daily headaches is very dangerous, with all the other stressors at school - can lead to depression as well as academic struggles
btw, giving my daughter daily magnesium supplement has greatly diminished her headaches

Why havent the school districts and the states challenged these lunches? They'd be labeled racist. Don't forget that the occupiers of our White House are both of Negro blood. Can't challenge or criticize them.

Are you saying you are ok with bureaucrats in Washington dictating what local schools serve their kids?

Control the minds and the media and you control the people. This has NOTHING to do with the meals.

Why don't you pack a lunch for him instead of eating their offerings, or pack a healthy supplement to the lunch? Children have such varying nutritional needs that there is no "one size fits all" lunch.
The answer is for the feds to get out of the school breakfast and lunch business and let communities figure it out.

Are you saying you are ok with bureaucrats in Washington dictating what local schools serve their kids? No, I'm saying that they're not voting against the name of the thing, but the thing itself. If, for example, I proposed a new law called the "Tastier Cafeteria Food Alternatives," and the bill mandated shit sandwiches for everybody, would your vote against it constitute a vote against tastier food?
