The government and media harangued voters to go to the polls Tuesday in the second and final day of Egypts presidential election, worried that turnout was weaker than expected in a vote in which the front-runner, former army chief Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, is trying to garner an overwhelming show of support.
There were no official figures on turnout in the previous days voting. But monitoring groups said Monday saw moderate in some places and often thin or non-existent in other areas, particularly where Islamistsel-Sissis top opponentsdominate.
El-Sissi, who removed Egypts first freely elected president last year, is poised for an almost certain victory. His only rival in the race is left-wing politician Hamdeen Sabahi, who finished third in the 2012 presidential vote but is not believed capable of taking more than a symbolic amount of votes from the retired field marshal.

The coronation of Pharoh Sisi I is not going smoothly. The fact is that Western oriented secularists will always be a minority in Muslim countries. Governments in such places are inherently unstable. It is virtually impossible to achieve a reasonable social consensus.
