TED CRUZ STANDS WITH ISRAEL IN THE HOLY LAND
Breitbart ^ | 27 May 2014 | by JORDAN SCHACHTEL

Posted on 05/27/2014 11:02:53 AM PDT by kingattax

Senator Ted Crux (R-TX) was in Israel Monday. The Senator from Texas spoke of the need to stand with Israel against the many Islamist entities that seek their destruction.

Cruz did not buy into the mutual culpability argument that both sides are to blame for the lack of peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. He said it was the Palestinian leadership’s failure to denounce acts of terror, along with their refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist as the lone Jewish state in the world.

The Senator is on a two day trip to Israel. He will then fly to Poland, Ukraine, and Estonia, thought of as a solidarity trip with the East European nations that are dealing with aggression from Russia.

Cruz said of the Palestinian leadership, “The principal impediment to peace is that, to date, the Palestinians have refused to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state and have refused to renounce terror.” The Senator continued, “Unless and until the Palestinians can agree on those very basic starting blocks, no lasting peace solution is likely.”

Cruz was highly critical of the Obama administration’s policies in the Middle East. He described the administration’s stance on the Middle East peace talks as “to criticize and harangue and pressure the Israeli government.”

compared to the wimp-in-chief, Cruz is being a strong pro-American leader - presidential.

The Pope should have a sit-down with Cruz, who apparently possesses far more clarity about the reality there.

Cruz is a refreshing mix of principles and intelligence, maybe even genius, especially when compared to Democrats and members of the Republican left.

They’re both doing their jobs.

And if you want to criticize the Pope, you might consult the National Catholic Register, as it is the only outlet which correctly quotes him and gets the context right, just as you would ignore the same outlets you’re consulting on the Pope, in regard to Cruz.

LOL

FWIW, a lot of people would benefit from sitting down with Sen. Cruz. I hope he runs for POTUS. He would be great. His father is pretty inspiring as well.

It’s so refreshing to hear a Senator speak the plain truth.

Always the "context," huh... I find it interesting that ONLY the NCR "correctly" quotes the pope, yet everyone else gets it wrong.

Also...

Praying at the security wall and giving the Palis all but open endorsement for their characterizing it as an "apartheid wall" -- A direct affront to our allies the Israelis.

"State of Palestine?" Are you aware of what the PA and HAMAS visions of the "State of Palestine" are? Let us know when you find where Israel fits in.

Let the NCR spin those. I stand with Israel.

You do realize that the traditional Catholic theological position in regards to Israel is Replacement/Supercessionism which would deny the Abrahamic Covenant being in effect and deny the Jewish people a Hebrew/Jewish nation and deny their historic rights to the land. Thus Catholic theologians can join liberal Protestants and Muslims in agreement that the proof of their correctness in this position is the thousands of years of the Jewish people being both persecuted and dispersed and denied the ability to live in Judea, Samaria and Israel. They can all peacefully unite in their denial of the Abrahamic Covenant and God’s many promises to the Hebrew nation and people and laying all blame at the Jews and Christians who stand in opposition.

Oh great!

Some paranoid rant.

Cite either the Catechism or Canon Law documents.

Otherwise your statement is as worthless as ‘if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor’

If you don’t like Catholicism, the neat thing about it is, you don’t have to. And you don’t have to be a Catholic, and if you were baptized Catholic, you don’t have to practice it, you can explain your choice on judgement day to God, and let Him sort it out.

You can even spew lies, as it is up to the reader to discern.

But it’s a paranoid rant.

So, get off my case.

I don’t have to cite Catechism or canon law documents - if you were familiar with the positions theologically of the Catholic church for the last 1500 years or just the last 100 you would realize I am not incorrect. I’m not Catholic but I went to a Catholic high school a few miles away from the Vatican and have no doubts there are many real Christians within the Catholic Church and a variety of views held by all. As I am sure there are many knowledgeable Catholics that would acknowledge the historical theological positions of the Church along with their contemporary views which are often rooted in the past and many that might profess views not in line with the majority. In fact, the very knee jerk desire for a catechism or liturgical document or church council is a source of a lot theological problems as people default to others thinking for them and deriving authority from some group of men with multifaceted agendas and politics often clouding outcomes and statements. One could read through hundreds of of pages and likely hardly find much dealing specifically with the ecclesiological or eschatological issues pertinent to Replacement theology and Israel and modern day issues. Kinda like someone asking for a specific Supreme Court ruling and judicial precedent in regards to an interpretation or view of the Constitution or Bill of Rights that are pretty plain sense if not for all the legal jargon and twisting since.
Sorry for bugging you - I knew my comments probably would but I realize many more freepers would be reading them and I feel someone might benefit agree or disagree.
