Following President Barack Obama's speech today at West Point, the UK Daily Mail reported "tepid applause and a short standing ovation from less than one-quarter of the audience upon his introduction." In a CNN video clip found at Mediaite, Jim Clancy noted that Obama did not sound like a “commander-in-chief speaking to his troops.” He further observed: “You heard the reception; it was icy."
The video posted at the White House's web site doesn't include the reception Obama received when he was introduced. There's a reason for that. The first 14 seconds of a Reuters video clip (HT Nice Deb) shows, especially for those of us who recall the enthusiastic receptions George W. Bush routinely received, that describing it as "tepid" may be an overstatement:
That certainly looked and sounded like The Silent Treatment. I almost wonder if they all knew he was up there at that moment. I would agree with a snub, but I find it a bit questionable that the vast majority of that audience did not react. Could it possibly be that this many real Americans are actively disgusted by this Occupier?
I have heard more lively clapping coming from a full elevator to celebrate somebody’s birthday.
Wow! I just watched both! What a huge difference! One thing you could say about President Bush was that he loves his country and he really does love and respect our military - and they had/have great respect for him as well.
The current pResident? Not so much. Apparently the feeling is mutual!

We went to ft logan for memorial day and had to sit through gov chickenpooper and sen udall talk about how much they care about vets, just like all the other dims. I took a nap.
Now THAT was an inspiring speech! Somebody posted a link to the entire speech. It will be worth hearing it in its entirety.
The Associated Press can bury the truth about Obama all it wants!!! It’s not gonna help!!! Obama is beyond help....and most of the nation and people know it, or learning more of it, every passing day!!! Actually, his Democrat Party should demand his immediate resignation!!! He is neither a POTUS or an American!!!
They study military history, tactics and strategy for demanding years so Obama can turn them out to wage war on climate change.
