new orleans — NEW ORLEANS — The second-graders paraded to the Dumpster in the rear parking lot, where they chucked boxes of old work sheets, notebooks and other detritus into the trash, emptying their school for good.
Benjamin Banneker Elementary closed Wednesday as New Orleans’s Recovery School District permanently shuttered its last five traditional public schools this week.
With the start of the next school year, the Recovery School District will be the first in the country made up completely of public charter schools, a milestone for New Orleans and a grand experiment in urban education for the nation.

At one time (when public schools actually taught), they were seen as necessary to bring some common culture to masses of people from various countries to integrate them as productive members of society. Since the left has successfully marginalized the WASP culture on which the country was originally built, that goal was irrelevant. Since then, learning for many children has practically halted (and we have the Balkanization such schooling was originally designed to prevent).
What about t hat one billion judgement? Who’s gonna pay it?
originally people got together to fund a local school for their own needs using a school board - then the city, county, and state guys saw the opportunity to cash in and they all started dictating requirements and such to gain a piece of the pie. Finally the Feds got involved.
If we’d go back to only local funding we’d likely get more of what we paid for since there would be more direct knowledge of who was being elected on the board and the ability to “correct” problems early.
Catholic schools did just fine forming patriotic Americans.
The whole bit about a “common culture” was always propaganda. Or rather, they meant what they said—except that, from the very beginning, they meant stamping out “alien” stuff like Christianity.

The problem they encounter is that when you draw people away from God by getting rid of societal norms (like marriage), then the same freaks you’ve created certainly don;t give a hoot about the replacement “gods” you give them (like Mother Earth). The problem for Dems (who have made it a problem for all of us) is that they pushed liberalism so far that they can’t put limits on anyone’s behavior; they have to support perverts and freaks because if they don’t they are the “fascists” they call anyone else who draws lines in the sand.
At that point, the only solution to the “problem” is to just start mowing people down.
The point of “liberalism” or whatever the philosophy of the Democrat party is, is to kill people. The carbon hoax is all about killing people through economic strangulation, here and in the Third World.
They plan to kill at least 90% of people.
BTW: Yesterday, Archbishop Wenski of Miami sent a letter to the EPA, endorsing their plan to murder most Americans through the carbon hoax.
Liberalism is losing to Islam because they don’t care about “carbon”; they want the world and are breeding in a manner as to inherit it.
The developing world itself (where people are still breeding very much) doesn’t care about “carbon”.
