In case of ceremonial delays, troops in formation normally are called to “attention”, given “at ease”, and then “rest” (free to move & talk but keep one foot in place) until called to attention again. Not in this case, obviously.

Worst wait position is “parade rest”, more tiring than attention because the hands are clasped behind the back.

Anyway, West Pointers gave POTUS the mostly silent treatment. They get it.

Notice how Oblammo backpedaled on his earlier contempt for American exceptionalism? Betcha he thinks no one will notice.

Saw part of the video and the part I viewed the cadets were all at attention. I hated the “parade rest” at change of command ceremonies, especially when it was on the parade field in August.
