Gallup: ObamaCare unpopularity unchanged since open-enrollment ended

Translation: If you disliked our plan, you still have to keep our plan. The Obama administration took a victory lap based on dubious-at-best enrollment figures after the deadline passed to sign up for ObamaCare, but Americans aren’t running alongside. Public opinion remains largely fixed, Gallup reports, more than a month later (via Taegan Goddard):

Although the Obama administration is boasting higher-than-expected enrollment for the Affordable Care Act, Americans’ attitudes toward the healthcare law have changed only marginally since the open enrollment period ended for 2014. A steady 43% of Americans approve of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, also known as “Obamacare,” while a majority continue to disapprove of it, roughly where sentiment was before the enrollment window officially closed on March 31. …

At the moment, there appears to be a rare lull in media scrutiny and political acrimony toward the healthcare law. The opportunity to buy individual health insurance policies through federal or state-run exchanges officially came to a close on March 31, 2014. The number enrolled now exceeds 8 million, and the high tally gave the impression of a good finish to what had been a very bad start, plagued by a botched website launch in early October and then reports of canceled insurance policies due to new, Affordable Care Act-inspired regulatory standards.

Nonetheless, public opinion about the healthcare law has been relatively steady throughout this front-and-center saga, mostly immune to both the good and bad developments. Approval of the law fell to 38% in early January 2014, when the federal exchange website’s glitches continued to plague the rollout of the marketplaces. Approval ratings improved slightly once the website was fixed and the public relations fiasco receded.

43% approve of the worst legislation in a century. This is why any conservative candidate always will have an uphill climb to win over 88% of the remaining 57% and win a presidential election. Tall order.

You’re right, on paper. Once they actually have to suffer the consequences, that’ll change real quick. It’ll be too late by then, but it’s coming.

Obama played this one real smart. Basically, he’s shuffled all of the negatives for this law on the next administration, whether that be a Republican or Hillary. Either way, there’s going to be Hell to pay.

43% is the figure for hard core hell or high water democrats. Obviously they see this as just one more case for getting in lockstep behind the party bosses.

I don't completely agree. That 43% number also includes those that have yet to be impacted by it, or simply believe that it will make no difference in their lives. Many of those include ‘head in the sand’ non-political types as apposed to hardcore democrats.

The VA scandal is just a preview of what is to come with O-care.

Family: V.A. Cops Stomped On Veteran’s Head, Killing Him
http://dailycaller.com/2014/05/27/family-alleges-va-police-killed-vet/

The family of a 65 year-old veteran claims that VA police stomped on the veterans head and neck, causing him to suffer a stroke and die several weeks later, a new lawsuit alleges.

On May 25, 2011, Jonathan Montano was waiting several hours to undergo dialysis treatment at the Loma Linda VA facility when he grew frustrated, reports Courthouse News Service.

With an IV still in his arm, Montano made his way towards the hospital exit, saying that he would get treatment at the Long Beach VA facility instead.

Norma Montano, the veteran’s wife of 44 years, left the hospital to retrieve the couple’s car.

But VA police wouldn’t let Montano leave, the lawsuit alleges.

“The summoned VA Police Department police officers then stopped Jonathan Montano from leaving the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, by tackling him to the floor, slamming his head on the floor, and kneeing and stomping on his neck, and otherwise brutalizing and restraining him,” reads the lawsuit, according to Courthouse News.

“This kneeing and stomping on his neck by the VA Police Department police officers caused the dissection of his carotid artery, that resulted in immediate (or very soon thereafter) blood clotting, which resulted in [his] suffering a stroke. Moreover, the brutalization of Jonathan Montano resulted in him suffering other serious physical injuries, and associated physical, mental and emotional pain, suffering and distress.”

Indeed. For these idiots it’s all about the Party and their Savior. Not the country. In fact, in 25 years these morons to an individual will still tout how “great” the Marxist was as POTUS.

There is a study out today by health economists projecting that by the end of 2016 this nation will actually have MORE uninsured than we did before this turkey passed, due to the skyrocketing premiums.

Schadenfreude.

And the media will report the news as being “unexpected”.
