Less than 24 hours after a preliminary Veterans Affairs Inspector General report showed that not only was there widespread misconduct and excruciatingly long wait times at hospitals for veterans, but that the problem is worse than first reported, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said President Obama will wait for a broader review before making any further personnel decisions about the VA, specifically when it comes to VA Secretary Eric Shinseki. Shinseki has been asked to resign by Republicans, Democrats and a number of veterans groups, including the American Legion.
On the issue of accountability, Carney stressed that President Obama is committed to accountability if in fact allegations of misconduct are proven to be true. Again, allegations were proven true yesterday through an Inspector General report.
Accountability in the Hussein administration?
Hasn’t happened yet — despite everything it has done wrong from fast and furious to Benghazi.
“(Press secretary Carney when asked if the director still had the president’s confidence) reminded the reporters that he had been put on probation.”
And if veterans continue to suffer and die—double secret probation?
Of all the many different scandals under this president, there is one common thread: a stubborn reluctance to ever do anything itself to address/ameliorate the problem(s), and a ‘bunker mentality’ and refusal to cooperate with others by ‘stonewalling’ where there is any possibility the WH itself bears any direct responsibility.
V A ping.
Our parents or grandparents would’ve already had rope bought and been headed for the capitol. What’s wrong with us?
Won't happen here either. Not now, not ever. I wish it would happen, but I am not confident. Remember, pigment protection.
“IF” I guess everyone is making this stuff up just to make the zero admin look bad. It would be looked at differently if it were zero’s dad or mom I’m sure.
They’re just going to delay and obfuscate until all the veterans who could testify to the abuses are dead.
Like this one....just sayin:
They’ll never find them “true”. They may end up being “factual” and “accurate” but somehow they will never become “true”.
“Well we need the report.” Report comes in.....”Well we need a more thorough report.” A thorough report comes in....”Well we need people to investigate the people who did the investigation for the report.” I’ts enough to make you wanna pull your hair out I’m telling ya. They will kick the can down the road long enough for the outcry to lose steam. They are stonewalling. They clearly are not taking this seriously enough, for all the talk Obama is doing (and is he really talking much about it?)Ya know, about Carney, it’s one thing for the president’s talking puppet to stick to his given talking points but it’s quite another for him to act schmaltzy and truly believe what he’s saying. Carney strikes me as one who does. He’s on a long list of people I cannot stand in this govt.
Odumbo is just dragging out the issue to fire someone in order to get some of the heat off. He will eventually fire the head of the VA to show people he was “mad as hell” and made someone pay. My guess is this mess goes well above the VA head. Someone has to pay and the buck will stop there when someone is fired. That will certainly make odumbo look “strong”.
Eric Shinseki will be fired. Kathleen Sebelius will be given the job. The killing of the vets will continue.
