America please wake up, and stop sending American jobs to China.
For real. Bring back jobs right here.
Why doesn’t our beloved government set up fake, but very desirable websites for the Chinese to hack, and salt them with a large number of horrible worms and viruses that will spread throughout China? Sort of warn them off!
I suspect because they are far to busy keeping tabs on people like us who are considered far more dangerous to the regime.
A bunch of people in our Ham radio group bought a really cheap, but well made Chinese handy talky radio. One guy was an IT specialist, and he called us after inserting the disc in his computer to program the radio. He said it triggered alarms of the deepest level in his network. He said whatever was on the disc was serious.
It is no wonder they have us hacked from top to bottom. Everything they send to us is programmed to take us down.
I agree with that.
America has given away a whole lot of what were up until this very generation, American jobs.
Every month both parties pretend this hasn’t impacted America. I strongly disagree.
America really, really needs to pay attention to, and change our ways of doing business with, China.
We cannot simply send ever more jobs to China.
America needs to make stuff right here at home.
Stand up Republicans. Stand up for America.
and we’ve destroyed our primary education system, destroyed it especially for boys, crushed those who achieve, so that fewer and fewer go into the hard sciences and engineering that we need.
We do, but it isn't that simple. Until we crush the demonization of wealth, and the bureaucracy, legislation and societal mindset that welcomes those things, our economy and way of life is doomed.
No the problem is two-fold.
Democrats don’t fight for American jobs, because democrats don’t really care about anything put political power.
Republicans on the other hand really should care about America.
Yet the GOP (as well as democrats) have sold out our industry to China.
Both parties are selling out America.
That needs to reverse, and we need to be supporting and building up America for a change.
Nobody is building up America right now.
Nobody.
I don’t disagree.
What you said is a given, and is somewhat of a chicken-egg conundrum.
What it boils down to is...when will things get so bad that people are going to give up the concept of the government being the provider, and understand that prosperity can only come from taking responsibility for yourself and providing for your own.
It is only when people will understand that their own self-earned wealth is far more satisfying, substantial and trustworthy than any promises of bread crusts (to be “granted” to them) made by politicians raking in their own tainted riches, that change will come about.
Otherwise, the people who predicted the “tipping point” where more people take from the system than give to it will be proven correct.
The problem in America right now, is that cheaper manufacturing can be done in China.
Much cheaper in fact.
If that was the only consideration, I would not argue against simply sending our industry to another country.
There is however a VERY BIG problem with that. Not only does that send away American wealth, perhaps more important it makes our most significant global competitor stronger.
Remember please that China has several times (and several times again) America’s population.
All the massive amount of industry we have already sent to China is building up that country very very rapidly.
China is now second in the entire globe. Rapidly gaining on us.
That is the part of all of this, which it doesn’t appear anyone is thinking about.
At some point given current trends, China catches and passes America.
China becomes the number one, undisputed world champion.
Then what?
We will STILL be buying all of our stuff from China, and they will simply zoom past America and just take over.
That is what nobody seems to be paying attention to.
Not democrats. Not the GOP.
Nobody is looking 5 years or 10 years down the road, with American making nothing, with China exporting billions of dollars of stuff into America, but now China is on top of the heap.
That is what I am talking about.
China could pass up by. (very rapidly I believe)
Then what?
Nobody in either party is paying a bit of attention to that.
It is a very real, very important question.
Who will support America?
I feel like we are talking past each other, and I can’t find a single thing I disagree with.
The point I am trying to make is that capitalism is based on money, and people are going to make their decisions based on that criteria.
Asking people to “Buy American” isn’t going to fix the problem because it depends on altruistic principles, which are often contrary to human nature.
Unless we fix the environment (legislative, political, bureaucratic, cultural) for business and allow industry to function like a sleek ship with a freshly cleaned and painted hull, we are going to have a ship of industry that has a barnacle-encrusted hull that will be passed by ships of many other countries who don’t have the self-inflicted overhead that we do.
We need to let people make money, and it won’t happen in a country where a culture of wealth-hating is being fostered, and politicians want to tax and set up an environment where the only place any of us will want to invest money (to make money) is overseas where industry works.
I don’t think we disagree, we possibly simply think the solution is different. I believe in letting the free market take over with profitable industry, however that happens. If a trade war results due to tariffs and other types of protective legislation, I am not opposed to that, since countries like China do engage in product dumping and such, but we should go into it open-eyed.
