I have an aversion to feces, makes me gag, so I can’t read this but was there anything about people not realizing that they prefered dark to light? Or is this just about one way racism. However I do recall that when I was in high school my friends uncle had a very bad accident in south central L.A. When he was asked what he was doing down there at 3A.M. he said “ If you never tried chocolate milk don’t knock it”.
Actually color matters very little - it’s attitude and values that matter.
There are Indians from India that are every bit as dark as blacks, but most people react very differently to them. Same with chinese or vietnamese.
People keep avoiding the elephant in the room, but he won’t go away.
That’s it. Most of us don’t give a flying f*** what someone looks like. Do the job or don’t. Behave respectfully or don’t. That’s what we base our decisions on.

Well I, for one, have ways preferred dark meat chicken. I just never can see why people are supposed to choose that dry, flavorless white meat over the rich, juicy dark.
And no, that isn’t code for anything if you’re wondering!
What about those women who want a man who is tall dark and handsome?
India is home to the caste system - a thousands of years old mostly color based pecking order.
There it is again: blame the men, most of whom would mount most anything that would let them. Actually women control most cosmetic preferences by favoring them in their children. Blue eyes, blond hair, and more universally: less dirty looking skin, are selected for at a young age. Babies are blonder, bluer, and whiter than adults because that is when these cosmetic features are most important for their survival. Excluding very recent times, women often had 6 to 8 children. Food, shelter, medical help were not reliable, so they often had to choose how very limited resources were allocated. After age 5 a child can safely lose the blond hair, and most do.
I prefer dark toast to light. I must be filled with hate.
They were unabashed about their preference for lighter skin - color was more important to them than job title in assigning status.
And, let's face it, a blond woman with blue eyes and skin so translucent that you can see the blue veins in her breasts is the most valuable object on the planet.
More valuable than gold is the creamy white skin of a young woman.
Individual tastes may vary but overall, this is true.
The Indian word for caste, varna, originally meant "color."
While high-caste Hindus tend to be somewhat lighter than low-caste in a particular area, there is at present no real color difference by caste across India as a whole.
If you want to see a caste system based on skin tone, check out how black Americans regard other blacks with dark skin, or those with lighter skin.
Spike Lee’s first film IIRC was “College Daze” where black fraternities & sororities were segregated according to skin color. He called it “jigaboos vs wannabes”. Some blacks were so light-skinned that it was said of them, “There’s a whitey in the woodpile somewhere”.
Discrimination based on color is not just a white thing. Far from it.
