DHS Secretary to Congress: 'You Cannot...Micromanage' the Executive Branch

(CNSNews.com) - Congress "needs to be careful not to intrude on the discretion that the Executive Branch should normally have," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

"You cannot, with all respect, micromanage certain functions that the Executive (Branch) is charged with carrying out."

Johnson was responding to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), who asked him to explain the difference between prosecutorial discretion and "wholesale" failure to enforce the law.

Not yet he hasn't, although he's threated it. Lose the hyperventilation and both of you may begin to sound more credible at some point. Doing what you do you only further the phony persona of insuperable invincibility and defeatist inevitability Obama can only hope to project.

You guys just bend over and declare victories for Obama he hasn't even come close to winning yet.

Kind of reminds me of Birchers during the cold war who hyped the spectre of Soviet power, and fell for all the propaganda of what the Soviets advertised was their alleged capability. (When did the US ever have to roll "ICBMs" through Washington DC the way the Soviets rolled then through little Red Square anyway?)

Elections have become courtesies, formalities extended to a people who wish to believe they still live in a constitutional and free republic.

I have long prided myself in never neglecting to do my civic duty and vote.

I no longer regard it as a duty, for only the shell, the outward forms of our republic remains.
