3 Milwaukee Shootings Bring This Year's Gun Homicide Tally To 41

Three deadly shootings of African-American men in Milwaukee this week have pushed the statewide gun homicide total for the year to 41.

Milwaukee police say that on Wednesday night at around 10:30 p.m. at 20th and Wright Street, 27-year-old Phillip Nelson was found shot to death inside a car.

Nelson's aunt Helen Austin says her nephew was a good man.

“It’s just a waste, the way they doing these young black men,” said Austin. “They doin' their own selves. I love my baby. I didn’t think something like this would happen. You never think it’s close to home until it gets next to home.”

Austin said Nelson was “sweet."

She also said the gun violence that's plaguing low-income African-American neighborhoods in Milwaukee needs to stop. Nelson's sister Tonia Place also said there's too much gunfire.

Every day, day after day, somebody’s kid gets buried, somebody’s kid got killed,” said Place. “It’s a funeral every day for somebody – an African-American kid.”

Have they ever thought maybe it’s their own gutter culture?

No, you’re not allowed to bring that up.

I think these guns might learn to live in peace with each other if it wasn’t for these humans wanting to pull their triggers all the time.

But yet the lame stream keeps bringing up the Santa Barbara/Isla Vista shooting. No mention of Chicago, Atlanta, DC, etc.

“According to records, Phillip Nelson — a 27-year-old of Milwaukee — was detained April 30, 2014 on multiple counts and later taken into custody.”

I’m curious how Detroit policy of encouraging citizens to ‘kill the bastards’ is working.

I don’t see a problem...

Keep thinning the herd...

Im starting to think the only way to solve this problem is to put MORE guns in the hands of the homeys...it will thin out the herd and improve the gene pool

I work exclusively in the central city of milwaukee and none of this surprises me. It is a drug crazed war zone there. I go early in the morning to do my business and also carry concealed and open my 45.

Wow! Those autonomous guns that go around killing people with utterly no human involvement are really dangerous! Thank GOD nobody was actually pulling a trigger.

Otherwise we might need to blame them.

Last weekend was a big one but according to Chief Craig violent crime is definitely way down. He says carjacking alone is down some 30% from last year.

—and yet Wisconsin now has somewhat over 200,000 citizens with concealed weapons permits and unless one has sneaked in under the radar, no drive-by shootings by ANY ccw permittee—

I’ve been a Wisconsin resident all my life (64). There are many more guns there are residents, about 5 million or so. Most of the gun violence is in Milwaukee. There are many cities and towns outside Milwaukee armed to the teeth that have virtually no gun violence despite the large amount of guns.
