Dozens killed, including Catholic priest, during Church attack in Central African Republic

Muslim rebels attacked a Catholic parish in Bangui, the embattled capital of the Central African Republic, killing as many as 30 people, including the parish priest.

The attack took place on Wednesday, when the Seleka rebels stormed the Our Lady of Fatima church compound with gunfire and grenades. Dozens of people, Christian and Muslim alike had taken refuge there to escape the fighting.

The archdiocese of Bangui confirmed the death of Paul Emile Nzale. The 76-year-old parish priest. He's the second priest killed in the country this year, as a result of the on-going fighting.

Both the Seleka and the largely Christian Anti-Balaka militias are accused of atrocities against civilians, based on their religious affiliation.

According to the U.N. Refugee agency, the fight for control between the two groups has displaced 630,000 people. Another 326,000 have fled to neighboring countries. With no peace deal in sight, the U.N. says that number is likely to rise.

In the wars we wage, things happen and we kill innocents.  For this we are deeply sorry.

In the wars Islam carries out, they kill innocents on purpose, and are very proud of it.

We respect their holy places.  They kill people in ours.

Isn't it interesting members of Islam felt safer going to a Christian church?

How many Christians would feel safe going to a mosque?

Even it members of Islam know which God is the God of peace and love.

Holy Martyrs of Bangui pray for us sinners.

Father Paul Emile, pray for us sinners.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us sinners.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.

Nothing to see here folks. Islam is the religion of peace. These are not really Muslims killing Christians. Besides, they’re just Christians. They aren’t a protected victimhood class. Nothing to see...
