Officially, the Thompson submachine gun is still in production. However, a far more entertaining gun, for my money, would be the American 180. A machine gun that fires .22LR with a flat magazine that can hold 275 rounds.

I have known about the AM 180 since about 1975, but I never knew until now it was designed by Dick Casull of .454 Casull fame. How cool!
