Obama to impose carbon pollution cap on power plants

In his most sweeping effort to date to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change, the Obama administration will unveil a new rule from the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday limiting the amount of carbon pollution from coal power plants.

The rule will impose a cap on the level of emissions existing power plants are permitted and it will provide each state a flexible series of options to implement that cap. Among other options, power plants will be allowed to increase the energy they derive from renewable sources like wind and solar power, adopt new technology to increase energy efficiency, and join or create a statewide cap-and-trade system to effectively tax the excess carbon emissions.

The total effect of those options could cut the amount of carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants by up to 20 percent.

President Obama explained the importance of the new rules in his weekly address on Saturday.

"Today, about 40 percent of America's carbon pollution comes from power plants. But right now, there are no national limits to the amount of carbon pollution that existing plants can pump into the air we breathe -- none," he said. "We limit the amount of toxic chemicals like mercury, sulfur, and arsenic that power plants put in our air and water. But they can dump unlimited amounts of carbon pollution into the air. It's not smart, it's not safe, and it doesn't make sense."

"That's why, a year ago, I directed the Environmental Protection Agency to build on the efforts of many states, cities, and companies, and come up with commonsense guidelines for reducing dangerous carbon pollution from our power plants," the president continued. "This week, we're unveiling these proposed guidelines,

The power companies should tell customers a couple days before they hit their cap then on that day shut it down.
Let the people go after their reps to end this BS.

I believe Congress refused to pass that legislation; it was voted down. This is therefore a legally-clear usurpation of power.

He should be arrested, pending impeachment.

I don’t think that the Founding Fathers when they were drafting the Constitution ever envisioned that we would elect spineless fools to Congress and a despotic idiot to the Presidency.

Like Obama would know the difference.

Yup. Government by decree.

Definitely un-American.

Well, yes. We are ruled by a death cult.

That’s the standard reply, low, but I wonder if it might have been better to impeach at the first transgression of constitutional transgression. It’s not too late now. It would serve to emphasize the egregiousness of the king’s latest assault on our people.

Here’s an idea, shut them all down tomorrow, lay off all the employees, and walk away. Tomorrow afternoon the eco-fascist a**hats will be screaming how they can’t cook dinner or run their AC units, let them embrace the suck.

I realize I’m speaking gibberish. Second “transgression” should be “law” or something. That’s what happens when I try to sound moderate.

Obama is not an Emperor. Enough of these decrees.

So who is going to stop him?

This is the question no one seems willing to honestly answer.

Clearly Congress and the Courts are not going to even slow him down.

So what recourse do we people have? Seriously?

The oligarchy has repeatedly demonstrated that it will ignore the rule of law, so the idea that we can just elect more Republicans and pass new laws or Amendments to force the regime to follow is just plain stupid.

What can we do? Hell I'm not even hearing anyone state they are going to IGNORE and DEFY these decrees via the EPA. Where is the cry "We will not comply?"

I say, get the coal companies and power plants to do that - DEFY the regime - and then we must be prepared to defend them when the Federal beast sends their militarized Civilian Security Forces to impose Obama's decree by force.

It's time. It has come to this.

I don’t understand how the green left wing nuts think this is not going to impact them too. We will all get to set in the dark and starve together. The governmental green fairy will not come and save anyone right or left. They don’t care how you voted as long as 95% of the people die so the NWO can be born.

Because this people refuse to understand the truth - even though it is right there in front of them, that Obama intends to destroy the country and the people - and rebuild his Marxist utopia from our ashes.

It sounds too ‘crazy’ to be believed, but if one looks at the facts and the fruits - it is self-evident that is what is being done to us.

With our full cooperation.

>Only 2 1/2 years left to go with Obama

But thank goodness we don’t have Romney in there to make it even worse. And heaven forbid we have to prevent another weak GOPer from winning and let hillary finish up the destruction.

Maybe the red states can cut the power to blue states to remind them who makes the power.

With the EPA and other agencies generating new regulations and imposing on the public, why do we need Congress? I do not believe that there is anything in our founding documents that gives any governmental body the ability to make law other than Congress. EPA, IRS, etc. should be dissolved.

I think we should put a limit on the amount of carbon dioxide that King Obama releases into the atmosphere every time he opens his big mouth. All that hot air can only be doing harm to the environment.

Anyone remember this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlTxGHn4sH4

So who is going to stop them from using these Alphabets to rule by Imperial Decree?

Congress is not going to do so as you stated.

The courts are in favor of a Dictatorial Oligarchy.

So how do you propose we ‘dissolve’ the Alphabet agencies acting above and outside the established Constitution?
