GOP’s Obamacare fears come true: A national enrollment system under Obamacare.
Politico ^ | 06/01/2014 | By KYLE CHENEY and JENNIFER HABERKORN

Liberals wanted a national enrollment system under Obamacare.

They might just get it.

Right now, 36 states rely on HealthCare.gov, the federal exchange, to enroll people in health coverage. At least two more states are opting in next year, with a few others likely to follow. Only two states are trying to get out.

That’s precisely the opposite of the Affordable Care Act’s original intent: 50 exchanges run by 50 states.

The federal option was supposed to be a limited and temporary fallback. But a shift to a bigger, more permanent Washington-controlled system is instead underway — without preparation, funding or even public discussion about what a national exchange covering millions of Americans means for the future of U.S. health care. It’s coming about because intransigent Republicans shunned state exchanges, and ambitious Democrats bungled them.

Let them find out when they are denied coverage and whether they live or die is decided by a death panel...

I said this when the GOP refused to run the exchanges and was eviscerated for it. You fight it but you WANT your State to run the exchanges or the Feds will. And once the Feds do you will end up with single payer.

Can we PLEASE elect someone smart? We need to stop electing “knee jerk morons”. We need people who will think further than 2 inches in front of their face.

There were ways to do this and ways not to. And, of course, the GOP did it the wrong way.

The GOP? You mean the party of traitors, imbeciles and cowards?

Their candidates for the last to presidential runs were the worst possible. They promoted these losers and undercut anyone who demonstrated the slightest hint of conservativism.

Meanwhile, in the House and Senate races, anyone who defeated Rove’s (RINO) favorites were trashed and backstabbed by their own party.

...and here you are dreaming that the GOP doesn’t want to give the democrats everything they want.

Screw the GOP.

It was always designed to fail—then morph into full blown socialism.

If all states drop their exchanges, one of the more valid lawsuits being brought against Obamacare will become moot.

That lawsuit claims that it’s unconstitutional in a state that has both a state and federal exchange to give subsidies to those who enroll in the federal exchanges, yet not give subsidies to those who enroll via the state exchange.

Sounds like the NY and CA exchanges will drain their taxpayers for a bit longer before they’ll face bankruptcy like the one in MA.

I don’t see where it makes a difference since insurance plans are different for each state. Imagine what will happen if it is ruled that subsidies are only for state exchanges.
