WASHINGTON The United States Navy has denied an application from an outspoken atheist who sought to become a chaplain to the Godless in the military.
As previously reported, 38-year-old Jason Heap submitted his application last July, noting that he had earned masters degrees from both Oxford University and Brite Divinity School, with substantial experience in human resources. He also successfully completed the necessary paperwork and all the required physical tests.
Heap told reporters at that time that a position as chaplain would be a chance for him to give back to my country."

I think the Navy decided that in the overall scheme of things it didn’t matter anyway so why bother employing him?
Besides the job description doesn’t mention making foot prints in the sand.

Why would an atheist need a chaplain, can’t they contemplate their imminent mortality alone?
IIRC, you need to be ordained by a religious body and on thier roster before becoming a chaplain. So he failed that part unless he joined the Unitarians.
Atheists are idiots if not deceivers.
