SUDAN has denied a Christian Sudanese woman sentenced to hang for apostasy will be freed soon, saying quotes attributed to a foreign ministry official had been taken out of context.
Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag was sentenced to death on May 15 under the Islamic sharia law that has been in place since 1983 and outlaws conversions under pain of death.
Abdullah al-Azraq, a foreign ministry undersecretary, told media outlets on Saturday that Ishag “will be freed within days in line with legal procedure that will be taken by the judiciary and the ministry of justice”.
But the foreign ministry said the release of the 27-year-old, who gave birth to a baby girl in prison on Tuesday, depended on whether a court accepted an appeal request made by her defence team.

It’s unfortunate that there aren’t any Islamic terrorists available for the Obama administration to free in exchange for Meriam and her children.
I guess who “Sudan” is in this instance depends on which foreign government is paying which corrupt public official to spout which line of BS.
She is a Christian, and very life is considered an insult to Muslims because of her conversion and her religion ..

Meriam didn’t convert, she was raised as a Christian after her Muslim father abandoned her and her Christian mother. The Sudanese courts have argued that under Sharia law she is still an apostate Muslim since Islam is the natural religion of all people. (We will never “Coexist” with these savages.)
It is obvious and disgraceful that the Obama administration does not care in the least for this wife of an American citizen and her two children who arguably are already American citizens.

I'm sure there are. I'm wondering if Obama has any interest in saving Christians at all. There's this, the Marine still in a Mexican jail (too many options to even list), arming the terrorists who are killing Christians in Syria, seeming to be more worried about offending the Nigeria gov than about getting those girls released.
The only releases were five Taliban and one apparant Taliban sympathizer. Why are no Christian leaders expressing outrage?
