'Clean Energy' Ruined Spain; now Obama is Dragging the US Over the Same Green Precipice
Breitbart ^ | 6-2-14 | James Delingpole

Posted on 06/02/2014 1:11:24 PM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

"Feeding the masses on unicorn ribs". That was how Walter Russell Mead once poured scorn on Obama's misbegotten attempts to revive the US economy by creating five million "green jobs."

Mead was quite right, of course. And there was plenty of evidence to back him up, such as the 2009 report by a Madrid university professor Gabriel Calzada Alvarez that for every expensive "green job" created by government subsidy, 2.2 jobs were destroyed in the real economy.

The Obama administration responded as only the Obama administration knows how: by calling in its left-wing attack dogs. Friendly organisations including George Soros's Center for American Progress and various well-funded wind industry lobbyists were recruited to monster this unhelpful evidence, which was dismissed for its "lack of rigor."

It's in this context we need to view the Environmental Protection Agency's dispiriting announcement of its latest swingeing assault on US industry - disingenuously billed as a "commonsense plan to cut carbon pollution from power plants."

The pain will be felt most acutely, of course, in the coal-producing states. But the damage will extend right across America for at least one very simple reason which was perfectly evident five years ago when Obama launched his "green jobs" scheme and is even clearer now: the expensive, unreliable, intermittent renewable energy which Obama and the EPA are trying to promote is no substitute for the cheap, abundant, reliable fossil fuel energy which Obama and the EPA are trying to kill.

Not only are renewables environmentally damaging (as witness the damage done to the world's avian fauna by bat-chomping, bird-slicing eco-crucifixes) but they are also the most unconscionable drain on the taxpayer and the broader economy.

Again, all we need for proof of this is to go to Spain, whose green energy travails represent a hideous warning...

It’s just not a serious article if you call a wind turbine an “Eco-crucifix.”

Obama truly believes that because HE is the one pushing green energy that somehow it will all work out.

The development of a Fascist State like Hitler had in 1930’s Germany, and what Obama almost has now in the nearly former USA, depends upon opposition leaders who refuse to lead the opposition, but continue to stay in power by support of their morally weak supporters.

The last attempt to oppose Obama failed when Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and McCain caved in to the stonewalling refusal to negotiate by Reid and Obama in late 2013 and early 2014.

Until effective voter pressure can be brought to bear on the Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate to replace the Republican Leadership in the House and Senate, Obama will continue to “Fundamentally transform the United States of America” into the most powerful Fascist Empire that the World has ever known.

Will these opposition Congressmen and women act before the November 2014 Election, or will they continue to wait to lose again, as usual, to the Left Wing, low information Voter in November, 2014?

BTW, money and reason are wasted on multimillionaire career politicians as they cannot be bought or convinced - - - they are the hardened professional criminal politicians that we have, for decades, elected and tolerated, gratefully for the “free” stuff that they have bought our votes with.

Obama is just doing as he was raised up to do, and will never change.

Our opposition Republican Leaders are doing everything that they can to make sure Obama is successful, and they will never change.

The change must come from opposition House Members and Senators in “both” parties, before low-information voters have made up their minds about whether or not to continue the status quo.

The Summer of 2014 is the last chance for We, the People to force our House and Senate Members to change their leadership before Labor Day, 2014, when early voting begins?

And FYI those giant windmill blades are made from....you guessed it....carbon fiber which is....you guessed it OIL BASED NYLON !

The Luddites are nothing else if not totally scientifically stupid. Of course they are also, following the Alynsky dictum...power mad!

I have never —and probably never will— had a ‘good’ word for this fool’s politics, but, He did say he was going to do this.

Our party insisted on running a weak, candidate who half(?) his own party didn’t really want.

We have control of the House but it is basically doing us no good.

To continue to vote in these Liberal R’s is just a folly, we would be better off with the D rather than McConnell, McCain, Lindsay, Boehner and their ilk.

Now ‘they’ are giving us ‘false hope’.....I was one of the ones saying a vote for ‘Romney’ is better than no vote BUT the ONLY way we will be able to ‘wake up’ the R’s in this country is to have them get their collective a$$e$ handed to them in an election. Until that happens, they will keep ‘dangling a carrot’ and say ‘We only lost by 2 points, we will get them the next time’.
It is time to give them a 20 or 30 point loss....

Unless, of course, all (US) R’s and Conservatives get behind ONE candidate no matter how bad he is...Just can’t keep ‘splitting’ the issue though.

"depends upon opposition leaders who refuse to lead the opposition, but continue to stay in power by support of their morally weak supporters."

It also depends on the former party, while in office, setting precedents that would be misused by the former party, and then further misused by the current party.

I'm speaking mainly of executive orders and the Imperial Presidency.

There was a time when some idiotic pollsters and demographers looked into the future and saw Republican presidents as far as the eye could see. They told us not to worry about an Imperial Presidency and Executive Orders because it would only be Republican presidents that would wield such power. They said we had to give more power to the president because the congress was too Democrat and too liberal and wouldn't let us get what we needed into law.

Reagan got us a tax cut along with the beginning of massive budget deficits. He also got our military back to strength and helped to end the Cold War. After that I really don't see much that Republican presidents did for America. Most of the crap they did was just Democrat-Lite, e.g. Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind, etc.

So we gave all that power to Reagan, Bush, and W and they did precious little with it. Now it is in the hands of Obama and he is going hog wild.

When the Republicans lost faith in the American People and decided to begin the transformation of this country from a government run by three branches to one run by the executive (with helpful hints from corporate cronies) it really seems like bad form to criticize the Democrats for just going them one better.

he said he was going do it.

yet the masses still voted for him.

why did they vote for him?

Let me think about this.

Why would people vote for someone who they don’t like and disagree with their policies going forward.

It appears to me in my simple little mind that they do not want government in their bedrooms.

There, said it. Flame me, Ban me. I do not care.

If I am banned, I will cancel my little monthly donation.

In my mind, you cannot lead if your not in office.

You cannot make changes if you cannot get elected.

Lie to get in office if you must. But the change must be made.

That's why we need a third party to emerge and be successful at state levels. They could influence the GOP via caucus; but no third party movement has ever come in strongly in the US at the Presidential level. You need to build momentum.

You really believe that is the deciding factor for electing the president of the US?

There is no way that socialism or green energy will ever work. We now have numerous examples of their guaranteed collapse. Our Great Leader Emperor Zero however has shown us all the way. The ends are no longer important. All we care about now is the means. So we can have fun raping and pillaging the US economy in a Viking-like fashion, while telling everyone how great it will all be when we are finished. What fun our Supreme Leader has in store for us.

Time to realize that most leftists know their plans cannot possibly work. That is why they are all sociopaths. If their plans actually had a possibility of working, they would just be criminals violating the law similar to Robin Hood.

For a lot of low info voters that caricature of the Republican party is enough. Most of us know this represents a deliberate mischaracterization at best of conservative positions. I believe that most of us on Free Republic feel we already know too much about what happens in Low Info Voters bedrooms.

Public employees and pension funds are heavily invested in energy companies. So yes, prices will go up much more.
