Did the football do it or was it the helmets?

I agree. I was very opposed to these lawsuits at one point, but Goodell has so ruined the NFL that I hope they have to pay up big time. Goodell seems more concerned about pleasing leftist agitators about homosexuality, Redskins namesake, etc., than putting a good show on the field.

I suppose that the PC crowd will back him on this one.
I never thought much about his football talents in addition to his not being very bright. He seems like a ‘duh’ kind of guy to me.

People smell a payday. This may bleed the NFL’s coffers.

Actually, no. Pro football players are highly compensated because they generate billions of dollars of revenue for their employers.
I don't know if any of these lawsuits have any merit, but no employer has the right to willfully put their employees in harm's way by hiding risks associated with the work.

So the concussions caused him to never save any money from 13 years playing, plus endorsements? He never had a concussion. His most serious injury was an Achilles tear that was more from playing golf than football.

He freely engaged in the activity of playing football fully knowing that he would get knocked about. It was not forced on him by the NFL. He chose to get roughed up.

That’s interesting. As a pure passer, I thought he was the best QB I had ever seen in the NFL.

Ah, that’s because you never saw John Unitas play football, live, in-person nor knew the kind of upstanding man he was except maybe in a couple of video clips. ;-)

Hey Marino, you got paid handsomely for what you did and you knew what you were getting into when you strapped on that uniform.
If you hadn’t played football, what would you have done?
There are thousands who strapped on a uniform and got very little in return but perhaps a flag draped coffin and never had a chance to bitch about it like you have.
