The National Climate Assessment (NCA) Doubles Down on Doom

President Barack Obama has decided to make “combating climate change” one of the top priorities of his second term; his EPA has pursued policies that amount to a “war on coal” -- or more specifically on emissions of carbon–dioxide. On June 2, EPA announced a goal of a 30% reduction by 2030 -- focusing mainly on coal-fired powerplants that supply over one-third of US electricity.

Apparently, he has become convinced that CO2 is responsible for Global Warming – and that anthropogenic GW (AGW) is dangerous. Or perhaps, there are more sinister motives.

Never mind the lack of evidence about any significant human influence on climate or the fact that the atmosphere is a “global commons” -- with the US emitting only about one-tenth of all CO2, while China alone emits nearly one-half. [According to official reports released on May 14, China now burns 49% of the world’s supply of coal, the US only 11%.]

But since climate change is nearly all naturally caused, Obama should learn the lesson of King Canute, who supposedly commanded the tides to cease rising and falling.

Yet on May 4, the US Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) issued its third National Climate Assessment (NCA), a collection of imagined future climate catastrophes and disasters for every section of the country. Its purpose is to convince the public that only quick action to cut emissions of carbon dioxide could avert these horrible events. The handsome report comes with beautiful pictures and graphs in color, a total of 841 pages. It was expensive, too; representing four years of work by hundreds; but it sank quickly, like a lead balloon. Consequently, the media, with much help from the White House Office of Science and Technology, have done everything possible to keep the excitement going.

Does our president dipshit realize that China and India and others put more Co2 in the atmosphere than all of America’s history? Ever seen a photo of Bejing and it’s brown air? What’s the point of killing our coal industry when so many other country’s citizens actually wear masks because of their pollution?

When we win the Senate and the Whitehouse, I hope the first thing that happens is the EPA is cut loose.

Then cut the Education Department. Then the Feds get out of the food business...out of the Health business, out of the climate business....then out of the college loan business....then out of the abortion business...then out of the marriage business....then out of the Union business

See the problem...It's called Federalism....The states fought over it at the beginning and we're still fighting this battle.

With the winter we just had we need more reliable capacity not less. A lot of people will freeze to death this winter because of this guy

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Silly peasants, don’t you know it isn’t about coal or CO2? It is about a new industry- green stuff ( green is clean , well, not really, actually worst than coal). It is about the money trail to get to this point (if coal bribed the potus, well, coal would be king still). Money is to be made from public policy, so follow the money feeding the policy makers- remember solyndra? look at wind farms- mostly subsidized and only able to run at 14% of installed capacity, see solar fields? Only able to run at somewhat less than 15% efficiency? None of these technologies will make up the difference in capacity even if most of the SW or coast lines are covered in solar panel or wind mills. Hear of H2? Like ethanol, it takes more fossil fuels and feedstocks to get the same BTU value as good ol gasoline or diesel ( or NG).

Get the picture? It is abut funding friends at the expense of rational fuels and power sources. Environmentalists are slitting their own ecological throats, wild spaces are going down in flames to produce less reliable, less capacious and more costly power sources with a much larger footprint-why? Not because coal is dirty, but because it is a ripe industry with leverage to sway national an world policy...

Welcome to the new world. Lawless.

I heard about some moronic Climate Alarmist saying that we only have “500 days” to fix the climate.

Eww, I'm SOOO scared!

Didn't ALgore predict that it would be 295 degrees by 1999 and we'd all be under 80 feet of water?

They are following their Socialist hero by making the lie bigger.
