LS,

“If you knew anything about movies you’d know that the producer doesn’t “hire” (by which I guess you really mean “audition”) -—the director does this...”

Okay, so according to you, now the Director is paying people and cutting checks?

The entity paying people is the Production Company (the Producer(s).

Actors work for the Production Company, not for the Director.

They are hired by the Production Company, b/c the Director says “Hire this guy, okay?”

Sorry, cha cha.

The Director’s not ‘hiring’ or ‘paying’ anybody, unless he’s also cutting the checks as dual-role (Producer AND Director).

If the entity cutting checks overrules the Director’s preferred casting choice, the Director has 2 choices: Leave the production, or hire a different actor.

Either way, you still can’t see Robbie Parker SMILING at the beginning of that YouTube clip as he approaches the TV press conference on the lawn?

He’s smiling.

You really know nothing about film production. Give it up.
