Read that quote -- it is one of the more self-centered, self-congratulatory, self-pitying "apologies" I have ever read in my life. The photographer goaded him into doing it. He is a gay rights advocate. And he'd hate to think that anyone thought he was homophobic. Where is the freakin apology????

He sounds like he is appalled because some tooth-flicking corn-fed yahoo used that horrible term, a term that he would never use himself because of his loved ones.
